UNION — Services for Robert Berdet Simmons will be held today at 2 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery in Lauderdale County.
Mr. Simmons, 75, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Riley Hospital. He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Wright and her husband, Arthur, of Florence, Liz Parks and her husband, Larry and Dianne Nelson and her husband, Gale, all of Newton; grandchildren, Kim Rowzee, Jason Gardner, Michael Parks, Michele Hollingsworth, Matt Parks, Christy Bennett, Corbie Nelson and Jonathan Spears and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vesper Simmons; his wives, Quanice Smith Simmons and Bernice Simmons; and a daughter, Tammie Spears.
Pallbearers will be Mike Covert, Randy Winterstein, Greg Donald, Steve Milling, Larry Pearson, Dr. Kary Whitehead and Gerald Spears. Alternate pallbearers will be Jonathan Spears and James Rowzee.
Thomas W. Puckett Jr.

DEKALB — Services for Thomas W. Puckett Jr. will be held today at 3 p.m. at Bay Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. David Grisham and William L. Puckett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Puckett, 83, of Porterville, died Friday, July 13, 2007, in his home. He was a member and deacon of Bay Springs Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his sons, Tommy Puckett III and his wife, Donna, and Eddie Puckett, all of Porterville; daughters, Eva Rodgers and her husband, Jay, of Piney Point, Md. and Sarah Grisham and her husband, David, of Jasper, Tenn.; two sisters, Margaret Brown of Louisville and Mary Elizabeth Nelson of DeKalb; a brother, William L. Puckett and his wife, Elaine, of Clinton; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys C. Puckett.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Charles Breckenridge

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Charles “The Country Boy” Breckenridge will be held today at 3 p.m. from Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church in Preston with the Revs. Ray Luke and Bobby Joe Butler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Breckenridge, 64, of Preston, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. He was born in Galveston, Texas, but had lived in Preston most of his life. He was a retired car salesman from Jerrell Davis Auto Sales in Meridian. He was formerly a bounty hunter and bail bondsman. Mr. Breckenridge was a member of Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Breckenridge of Preston; daughter, Frankie Davis of Philadelphia; son, Johnny Breckenridge of Preston; grandchildren, Lela Davis of Meridian and Robin Renfrow of Philadelphia; parents, Wilma and Linnie Breckenridge of Preston; brother, Marion Lee Breckenridge of DeKalb; sister, Marsha Ann Al-Habbash of Columbus; step-daughters, Rhonda Dumas of Walnut Grove, Becky Ferguson of Louisville, Rachel Lee of Flowood; step-sons, Richard Lee and J.C. Lee, both of Louisville and 12 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Breckenridge and Mr. and Mrs. Serifim Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Laith Al-Habbash, Lindsey Breckenridge, James Thomas, Wade Boatright, Wesley Brewer, Shelby Breckenridge, Bill Boatright and Ronnie Burton.
Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to service at the church.
Jerry E. Dearman
QUITMAN — Services for Jerry E. Dearman will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Dearman, 56, of Stonewall, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, Meridian.
Survivors include two sons, Eric Dearman and his wife, Michelle, of Parkdale, Ark., and Kevin Dearman and his wife, Kelly, of Meridian; his mother, Myrtle Howard of Quitman; two step-daughters, Jennifer McKeithen and her husband, Tim, and Susie Starks and her husband, Vincent, of Stonewall; two brothers, J.L. Dearman of Meridian and Sam Dearman of Lockhart, Texas; a sister, Elizabeth Smith of Stonewall; five grandchildren, Justin Dearman and Erika Dearman, both of Parkdale, and Kaylyn Dearman, Lynsey Dearman and McKensey Dearman, all of Meridian; and three step-grandchildren, Taylor McKeithen, Paris McKeithn and Allyson Starks.

Services for Joyce Rigdon will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Billie Tolbert officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Rigdon, 76, of Meridian, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at Queen City Nursing Center. She was employed as a nurse at Queen City Nursing Center and retired from Riley Hospital. Mrs. Rigdon was a member of Christ Tabernacle.
Survivors include her children, Paul Ray Rigdon Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Wiggins, Linda Sue Maletich of Marion and Billie Gryner and her husband, Ricky, of Lauderdale; his grandchildren, Dena Rae Rigdon, Amber Nicole Rigdon, Patrick and Keith Keller, Teri Breland and her husband, Billy, Wendy Marquis and her husband, Keith, Brian Maletich, Tabetha Maletich, Brandi McLelland and her husband, Ronnie, April Miles and her husband, Lance, and Christopher Gryner; great-grandchildren, Katie Breland, Andrew Breland, Matthew Breland, Noah Marquis, Austin Marquis, Makenzie Breland, Ayden Maletich, Madison Marquis and Alana Maletich; a sister, Mary Ann Dodd and her husband, Freddie; five brothers, James Fleming and his wife, Ballie Maude , Leon Fleming and his wife, Katherine, Bernice Fleming and Lester Fleming and his wife, Charlotte, all of Quitman, and Ray Fleming and his wife, Joan, of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ray Rigdon Sr.; her parents, Lonnie and Mona Fleming; a brother, Owen Fleming; and boy and girl twins.
Visitation will be held today, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Maletich, Jeffery Harrison, John Overby, Ron Rigdon, Chris Gryner and James Harrison.
Geneva Easom
UNION — Services for Geneva Easom will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Ms. Easom, 89, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at Meridian Community Living Center.
Survivors include a sister, Nadine Easom of Meridian; three nieces, Brenda McElhenney and her husband, Cupit, and Jean Wallace, all of Union, and Christine Templin of Bessemer, Ala.; four great-nephews and a great-niece.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to services at the funeral home.
Anna B. Wright
Services for Anna B. Wright will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Church of the Mediator with the Rev. Osborne Moyer officiating. Burial will be in Daleville Cemetery.
Ms. Wright, 50, of Daleville, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was employed with Bruister and Associate. She was a native of Hattiesburg.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Wald and his wife, Amy, of Clinton; a daughter, Susan Raley of Daleville; two grandchildren, Kimberly Wright and Joyce Anna Raley; her father, William B. Wright and his wife, Joyce, of Daleville; a sister, Billie Wright of Daleville; two brothers, John Patrick Wright Sr. and his wife, Kim, and Charles Anthony Wright and his wife, Catherine, all of Hartwell, Ga.;and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Ruth Wright.
Visitation will be held today, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Wright, John Patrick Wright Jr., Jeff Sevier, Ben Hutchinson, Sean McKeehan and Greg Davis.

Services for Mack Vail will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. J.R. Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Okatibee Cemetery.
Mr. Vail, 68, of Meridian, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Riley Hospital.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Edna Nethery
Services for Edna Nethery will be held Tuesday at 2 pm. at Enterprise Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial service will be held after the funeral.
Mrs. Nethery, 92, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, from noon-5 p.m., at the funeral home.
Rebecca D. “Becky” Angle
Memorial services for Rebecca D. “Becky” Angle will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Angle, 43, of Hunnington, West Va., died in Hunnington. She is a former resident of Meridian.
