Gary and Kathy Sims of Birmingham, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Deree Michelle, to Jason Rogers, son of Marlene and Robert Earl Neal of Meridian. Miss Sims is also the daughter of the late Virginia Bishop Sims. Mr. Rogers is also the son of the late Erbert Rogers.

The wedding will be held Saturday, July 7, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Meridian.

Miss Sims is the granddaughter of the late Arnold and Lois Sims and T.J. and Loraine Bishop of Meridian.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Meridian High School.

Miss Sims is employed at Meridian Medical Associates.

Mr. Rogers is the grandson of the late Rex and Maggie Lee Marcum of Meridian and Elmer and Eula Rogers of Meridian.

The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts in 2002 from Mississippi State University and an associate’s degree in 1999 from Meridian Community College. He is a 1993 graduate of Meridian High School.

Mr. Rogers is employed with the Mississippi Air National Guard in Meridian.

A reception will be held at Holiday Inn Northeast following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
