Gwendolyn E. Avery Lizana



Services for Gwendolyn E. Avery Lizana will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Clark’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

Ms. Lizana, 66, of Meridian, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was employed with the Gulfport Public School System. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her personally and those that met her in her lifetime. Her long suffering with cancer was a teaching tool to her children, family and friends. Because she expressed strongly how precious and priceless life is to everyone it is given to.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheri A. Lizana-Heath and her husband, Roderick Washington; and their sons, Xavier Heath and Terrill Washington; son, Jason T. Lizana and his wife, LaDonna, of Mesquite, Texas; and their two children, RaShida Harris and Jason Lizana II; daughter, Sherelle L. Lizana and her husband, Jerome Adkins, of Meridian; and her two children, Kerwin Lizana and Kumari Lizana; sister, Linda Morgan of Gulfport; brothers, Jackie Avery Sr. and his wife, Ella, of Macon, Ga., Ronald Avery of Japan and James Avery of Gulfport.



John G. Whitehead Jr.



Services for John G. Whitehead Jr. will be held today at 11 a.m. at Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rob Gill officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Whitehead, 86, of Meridian, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was retired from United Insurance Company of America. He was a member of Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church and a veteran of WWII. He received a Purple Heart.

Survivors include his daughter, Bobbie Rea and her husband, Chuck, of Meridian; sons, Jimmy Whitehead and his wife, Susan, of Meridian, Rick Whitehead and his wife, Teresa, of Madison; grandchildren, Barbara Hebert, Sara Rea, Meredith Rea, John Rea, Walter Whitehead, Daniel Whitehead, Nick Whitehead, Tristan Whitehead, Lauren Hartley; two great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Margaret Whitehead of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Usher Whitehead; brother, Frank Whitehead; parents, John G. Whitehead Sr. and Fannie B. Whitehead.

The family requests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and Chuck Rea; honorary pallbearers, Dr. Wayne Sullivan, Hickman Parr, Les Prichard and Phillip Mathis.

Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the church.



Carey Lee Johnston



Graveside services for Carey Lee Johnston will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Enterprise Cemetery, with the Rev. Thomas Wood officiating. Wright’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Johnston, 50, of Enterprise, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his father, Davey Lee Johnston and his wife, Donna, of Enterprise; brother, Jonathan Johnston of Enterprise; sister, Sarah Johnston of Meridian; and paternal grandmother, Ethel Johnston of Quitman.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Martin Johnston; paternal grandfather, D.P. Johnston; maternal grandparents, W.C. and Winnie Martin.

Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Shellie King



Services for Shellie King will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church Chapel, with the Rev. James Hare officiating. Burial will be in Musgrove Cemetery, with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. King, 85, of Enterprise, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at his home. He was retired from Owens Corning.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred King; daughters, Loretta Adams of Stonewall, Eva Bartley of Madison; Deborah Cobb of Mansfield, Texas; sons, Thomas J. King of Livingston, Ala., Shelley D. King of Meridian; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held today from 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.



Chelsea Daniels



Services for Chelsea Daniels will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Dewease officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Ms. Daniels, 19, of Bailey, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center.

Survivors include her parents, Donnie Daniels and his wife, Debbie, of Bailey; brother, Steven Daniels; grandparents, Louie Daniels and his wife, Dot, of Bailey, and Roy Touchstone and his wife, Frances, of Okla.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Hal W. Fleming Sr.



Services for Hal W. Fleming Sr. will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Grady Crowell and James Pearson officiating. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery.

Mr. Fleming, 67, of Shubuta, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Regency Hospital. He was retired from the U.S. Navy serving in Vietnam and Cambodia.

Survivors include his wife, Alenda Fleming of Shubuta; son, Hal Fleming Jr. and his wife, Tempa, of Taylorville, Ill.; daughter, Amanda Gilbert and her husband, Danny, of Enterprise; brothers Van Fleming of Quitman, Baker Fleming of Hitchcock, Texas, Joe Fleming of Shreveport, La., McArthur Fleming of Sterling Hill, Mich.; sisters, Dean Edwards of Duberlin, La., Jimmie Dale Kennedy of Quitman; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Dorothy Downey Fleming; daughter, Renita Chandler; brothers, Sam Fleming, Ed Fleming, Thad Fleming, Jerry Fleming, Bill Fleming and sister, Jackie Wells.

Pallbearers will be Adam Chandler, Ty Chandler, Blake Fleming, Daniel Gilbert, Caleb Worsham and Trevor Worsham.

Visitation will be held Saturday after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.



Rachel Moore Ingram



BATON ROUGE, La. — Services for Rachel Moore Ingram will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Allen officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Mrs. Ingram, 65, of Baton Rouge, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, CCLA Garden Club, CCLA Bridge Club, Redstick Smocking Guild, Homemakers Club and was a volunteer reader at University Terrace Elementary School.

Survivors include her mother-in-law, Etta T. Ingram of Meridian, Miss.; daughter, Stephanie Ann Ingram of Schaumburg, Ill.; son, Stephen S. Ingram and his wife, Laurie, of Baton Rouge; sisters, Tiny Ann Brock of Meridian, Mae Doerner of Collinsville, Miss., Pat Griffin of Collinsville, Kay Daugherty of Collinsville; brothers Spencer Moore of Taylorsville, Miss., and Kellis Moore of Natchez, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl S. Ingram and her parents, Albert L. and Nell P. Moore.

In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations may be made to Donaldsonville Area Association.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday at 1 p.m.



Fannie L. Chaney



Arrangements were incomplete at Clark’s Memorial Funeral Home for Fannie L. Chaney, 84, of Willingboro, N.J., who died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, in Willingboro.
