DEKALB — Services for Sophia M. Davis will be held today at 2 p.m. at Greenfield Baptist Church in the Hopewell Community with the Rev. Sylvester Hampton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Davis, 71, of Philadelphia, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her husband.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Harry Tubby will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Bogue Chitto Facility Building with the Revs. Mark Roth and Ethan Good officiating. Burial will be in Isleep Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tubby, 47, of Louisville, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his sons, Daniel Tubby and Mason Tubby; one brother and one aunt.
Barbara Garrett Parkerson

Graveside services for Barbara Garrett Parkerson will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Revs. Dr. Ramon Leake and David McCubbin officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Parkerson, 89, of Meridian, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a “Pink Lady” at Riley Hospital for more than 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Meridian.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Akin Little and her husband, Harry, of Meridian; grandchildren, Earl Bernard Akin Jr. and Alan Akin and his wife, Teresa, all of Meridian, Susan Akin Lynch and her husband, Brooks, of Jackson and Lisa Akin Mansell and her husband, John Pat, of Carthage; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Dorris Garrett and his wife, Mary, of Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Rudolph Parkerson and a granddaughter, Janet Lee Akin.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Meridian or to the Special Olympics.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB — Services for Berry A. Wills Stidmon will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sunflower Baptist Church in Scooba with the Rev. Lonnie Nicholson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stidmon, 43, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Scooba, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, in Wichita.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home in DeKalb.
Rev. Henry C. Rush

DEKALB — Services for the Rev. Henry C. “H.C.” Rush will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in DeKalb with the Revs. Melvin Rush and Darryl Rush officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Rush, 87, of DeKalb, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was born in Kemper County on July 21,1919, to the late Willie Rush and Carrie Houston Rush. He had four brothers and two sisters. He was married to Gussie M. Jennings Rush for more than 61 years and they had nine children.
Rev. Rush served the Lord and his country faithfully. He attended Chicago Baptist Seminary and served in the ministry for more than 56 years. He served as pastor of seven churches during that time, including, Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church and was the founder and pastor, Unity Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Center Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Ary Missionary Baptist Church, New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church and Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama.
Rev. Rush also participated in and served in an official capacity for the East Mississippi Baptist Congress of Christian Education as vice president, New Educational State Convention as dean and treasurer, Unity Springs District Congress of Christian Education as president for more than 21 years. He was a member of Mt. Olive District Congress of Christian Education, the Northbound Bethlehem District Congress of Christian Education and served as moderator. He was also a member of Southbound Bethlehem District Congress of Christian Education and Long Pilgrim District Congress of Christian Education.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Military and served in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home in DeKalb.

Ms. Lizana, 66, of Meridian, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
