Clara Haggard

PHILADELPHIA — Graveside services for Clara “Cleo” Haggard will be held today at 11 a.m. at Shepard Cemetery in Kemper County with the Rev. Johnny Peden officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Haggard, 91, of Preston, died Tuesday, May 18, 2007, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.



Maxine Phillips



SEBASTOPOL — Services for Maxine Phillips will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Steam Mill Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Charles Morrow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Phillips, 80, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at J.G. Alexander Nursing Home in Union. She was a member of Steam Mill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered as a very loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her sons, Jim Phillips and Tom Phillips, both of Sebastopol and Charley Phillips of Philadelphia; sisters, Corrine Callahan of Sebastopol, Frankie Hoxsey of Cape, Fla. and Fae Watkins of Titusville, Fla. and Sue Herrington of Union; grandchildren, Donna Phillips, Wade Phillips, Angel Fason, Amy Burkes, Janet Phillips, Carla Phillips, Kylie Whitehead and David Phillips; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Claude Phillips; brothers, Raymond Gomillion and Dewitt Gomillion.

Pallbearers will be Wade Phillips, David Phillips, Ryan Burkes, Darrell Fason, Ben Whitehead, Marcus Herrington Jr., Leroy Callahan Jr. and Jimmy Wilson.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Ivey G. Piner Sr.

Retired



Services for Ivey G. Piner Sr. will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Piner, 82, of Meridian, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian. He was retired from Atlas Roofing. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He served on board the L.S.M.-481.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Piner of Meridian; children, Elsie Foley of Lady Lake, Fla., Gordon Piner of Portland, Maine, Ivey Piner Jr., Dennis Piner and William Piner, all of North Carolina, Michael Mizell of Meridian and Tammy Shelton of Meridian; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hardy, Lee Pinkerton, Brad Sliger, Lamar Ross, Billy Hastings and Michael Yancy.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Catherine M. Dufour

Graveside services for Catherine M. Dufour will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Cosgrove officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dufour, 83, of Meridian, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Beverly Healthcare Center. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her sons, Reginald Dufour Jr. and his wife, Genia, of Bailey, Michael Dufour and his wife, Janice, of Jackson; a daughter, Kathleen Boles and her husband, Roger, of Meridian; grandchildren, John Dufour III, George Dufour, Wes Boles, Amy Elliott, Lara Mayoral, Beth Carr, Catherine Moore, Joey Dufour, Ben Dufour and Jennifer Alicia Dufour and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Reginald Dufour Sr.; sons, John Dufour and Tommy Dufour.

Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 until service time at the funeral home.



Bobby F. Martin

BUTLER, Ala. — Services for Bobby F. Martin will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Morgan Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Martin, 75, of Toxey, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Miss. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Martin; sons, John Martin and Mark Martin; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Services for Eddie R. Tubbs will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Lauderdale. Burial will be in Pack Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tubbs, 76, of Toomsuba, died Monday, April 30, 2007, at Physicians Clinic.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Crowther, 63, of Atlanta, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at Crawford Long Hospital.

Visitation will be Friday from 7:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Davis, 57, of Quitman, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, in her home.
