Cora L. Posey
Services for Cora L. Posey will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Malcolm Lewis and Paul Davis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Posey, 78, of Meridian, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at her daughter’s home in Quitman. She was retired after 26 years as unit secretary at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was also a member of Northcrest Baptist Church and a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School class.
Survivors include her daughter, Tami Blanchette and her husband, Robert, of Quitman; special goddaughter, Mona Rigdon and her husband, Jeff, of Stonewall; step-daughter, Debbie Beckham and her husband, Wayne, of Philadelphia; step-son, Rick Posey and his wife, Sharon of Kentucky; grandchildren, Robert Lee Reed, Allison Nicole Reed, Lauren Victoria Reed, Melissa Bishop, Miranda Peeples; special god-grandson, Jeff Walker; 11 other grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Weathers and her husband, Lester of Ormand Beach, Fla., Betty Swanner and her husband, Preston, of Laurel; brother, Clewis Bozeman and his wife, Terrie, of Meridian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hays Posey; granddaughter, “Little” Sarah Elizabeth Reed; step-son, Danny Posey; and special friend, Emma Henderson.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Oliver Turner Jr.
BUTLER, Ala. — Services for Oliver Turner Jr. will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Red Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Raymond Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Red Springs Cemetery, with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Turner, 72, of Gilbertown, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Miss. He was employed as a logger.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy Evelyn Turner; children, Henson Turner and his wife, Terri, Judy McInnis, Ruby Wilson; brother, George Turner; grandchildren, Bobby Ray Turner and James Chad Turner.
Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m. – until at the church.
Robert L. Harris
Graveside services for Robert L. Harris will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Meehan Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Fahrbach officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harris, 48, of the Meehan Community, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He had worked in steel construction until he was disabled.
Survivors include his wife, Peggie Harris of the Meehan Community; children, Amy Taylor of Potts Camp, Roberta Harris of Missouri, Robert Charles Harris of Oxford; grandchildren, Michael, Denise, Zackary, Austin, and Phebie Taylor all of Potts Camp; brothers, Randy Harris of Potts Camp, Ronald Harris of Holly Springs; sisters, Mary Ann Harris, Carolyn Robbins, Margaret Robbins and Liz Harris all of Union County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Leon Harris and Mary Joyce Harris; and a brother, Larry D. Harris.
Ginger Ann Hathaway
Graveside services for Ginger Ann Hathaway will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hathaway, 60, of Houston, Texas, died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at her home. She was born in North Little Rock, Ark. and graduated high school in Jackson. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Houston Baptist College and taught 30 years in the Houston Independent School District with a specialization in Special Education. She married Ronald Hathaway in 1983.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Hathaway of Houston; brother, Ken Switzer and his wife, Carolyn, of Meridian; niece, Suzanne Switzer of Meridian; and step-son, Gunther Hathaway and his wife, Janet, of Tucson, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. David Monroe Switzer.
Arthur Cohen
Services for Arthur Cohen will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Shelia McGee officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Cohen, 60, of Meridian, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bobby Ray McWilliams
Services for Bobby Ray McWilliams will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Fitkins Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Gerald Hudson and Dr. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Enterprise Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McWilliams, 55, of Meridian, died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Riley Hospital. He was employed with Meridian Transit Authority and was a musician for several area churches.
Survivors include his brother, Stevie McWilliams of Meridian; sisters, Jessie McWilliams of Meridian, Dora Drake and her husband, Leon, of Meridian; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Gertrude McWilliams.
Visitation will be held Friday at Newell Chapel.
Willie A. Smith
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Willie A. Smith, 77, of Meridian, who died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
