Barbara B. Wainright

BUTLER, Ala. — Services for Barbara B. Wainright will be held today at 11 a.m. at Geneva Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Scott Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Geneva Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wainright, 66, of Nanafalia, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Mobile Infirmary.

Survivors include her mother, Helen Breckenridge; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.



Edwin Earl Reynolds

Retired



Services for Edwin Earl Reynolds will be held today at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Reynolds, 80, died Monday, March 12, 2007, in Raymond. He was born in Williamsville and grew up in the Kosciusko area. During the early part of World War II, he worked as a relief worker for farmers who lacked manpower due to the war. He worked for a couple in Fargo, N.D. for several months, harvesting wheat. After returning to Kosciusko, he worked at a grocery store until he turned 18 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Menquet.

After World War II, he worked for Southern Bell as a cable splicer in Vicksburg. It was there that he met his wife to be, Eleanor Menger Reynolds. They were married on Sept. 9, 1950, and spent more than 56 years together.

He was recalled to active duty for the Korean conflict shortly after his marriage. Eleanor and Ed returned to Vicksburg in 1953 and lived there until 1968. Ed was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Vicksburg and he was a Mason.

In 1968, he was promoted and moved his family to Meridian. They were members of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church. He retired from the telephone company in 1986. In retirement, he enjoyed deer hunting in Colorado, fishing with his wife and his fishing buddies in Meridian and Dulac, La., and visiting with his children and grandchildren. The most memorable thing about him was his positive attitude toward life, no matter what he had to face.

Survivors include his children, Ed Reynolds Jr. and his wife, Karen, Marilyn Brand and her husband, Sam, Bill Reynolds and his wife, Lynn; grandchildren, Darcie Price-Wallace and her husband, Chris, Eric Price and his wife, Monica, Kristen Reynolds, Katie Reynolds, Hamp Reynolds, Taylor Reynolds, Todd Brand and his wife, Amy, Jarred Brand, Corbin Brand and Kaley Brand; great-grandchildren, Eli Brand, Noah Brand , Sylvia Wallace and another expected in June; sisters, Mavis Draper, Marie Dickerson and a brother, Elmer Reynolds and his wife, Bobbie and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.



Mary Katherleen Dickerson



UNION — Services for Mary Katherleen Dickerson will be held today at 2 p.m. at Reid Chapel Church of God with the Revs. H.L. Rhodes and Frank McGough officiating. Burial will be in Hudson Chapel Church of God Cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Dickerson, 77, of Conehatta, died Monday, March 12, 2007, in her home. She was a member of Reid Chapel Church of God and a life long member of the Prospect Community.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Amis and her husband, Robert, of Conehatta; a son, Gwen Dickerson and his wife, Janet, of Conehatta; grandchildren, Alisia McMillan and her husband, Arthur, Diedre Maxie and her husband, Chuck, J.O. Amis and his wife, Amberly and Anya Dickerson; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Vance of Decatur; brothers, Carlton Williams of Bastrop, La., Jim Williams of Natchez, Clyde Williams of Union, Charles Williams, Tommy Williams and Jerry Williams, all of Conehatta and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Dickerson; a grandson; a sister, Sula Gardner; brothers, Hubert Williams, Andrew Lee Williams, Clell Williams, Lamar Williams and J.D. Williams.

Pallbearers will be Robby Thompson, Danny Dickerson, Todd Williams, Lavelle Williams, Johnny Gardner and Ronnie Gardner.

Mr. Walley, 28, of Newton, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, in Lauderdale County.

Fred C. Calvert III



FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. — A Memorial service for Fred C. Calvert III will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Kassly Mortuary Chapel.

Mr. Calvert, 64, of Collinsville, Ill., was born Dec. 19, 1942, in Moscow, Miss. He died on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 in his home.

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1984 and worked as a Civilian Management Analyst from 1985 to 2003. He was a member of the B58 Association.

Survivors include his wife, Patti J., Pasvogel Calvert; a daughter, Paula J. Berry of Troy; two grandsons, Ryan Moore of Troy and Justin Berry, of Troy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Sarah Cullum, Calvert II; a sister, Minnie Helen Calvert.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Visitation will be held Friday from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Lawrence and Helen Brooks and three brothers.

William B. Stuart

Mr. Stuart, 70, of Livingston, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, in Livingston.

Mr. Griffin, 82, of Stonewall, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his son, Charles Dewayne Griffin and his wife, Ruth, of Stonewall; daughters, Shirley Ann Griffin Lewis and her husband, James, of Rose Hill, Regina Gail Griffin Carpenter and her husband, Ricky, of Stonewall and Susan Gay Griffin Allen and her husband, Scotty, of Stonewall; brothers, James Leo Dearman of Quitman and Byron Dearman of Stonewall; sisters, Evelyn Pugh of Quitman, Helen Touchstone of Stonewall, Wilma Jean Robinson of Quitman, Bobbie Dean Stabler of Peterman, Ala. and Aliean Waddell of Meridian; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Griffin; a son, Willie Pleamon Griffin; his mother, Katie Dearman; his father, Willie Griffin and a step-father, Lamar Dearman.

Pallbearers were Chad Allen, Michael Griffin, James Smith, Dusty Griffin, Scotty Crowe and Chris Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers were Barry White, Cleo Howard and Roy Jimerson.
