BUTLER, Ala. — Services for Mattie Lucille Mosley Norton will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Anita Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in Old Lusk Cemetery in Toxey.
Mrs. Norton, 71, of Pennington, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Miss.
Survivors include her husband, John D. Norton, of Pennington; a son, Larry Norton, of Butler; daughters, Martha Norton Weimorts of Port St. Joe, Fla. and Jean Norton Tingler of Louisa, Va.; a brother, Billy Mosley of Gilbertown and a sister, Nora Turner of Toxey; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Weimorts, Leuis Mosley Tingler, Gina Michelle Norton, Jessica Hope Norton, Tyler Wesley Weimorts and Jessie Norton Weimorts.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ramona Lucille Norton; parents, Denton and Mattie Mosley and her first husband, Larry Norton.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Center in Memphis, Tenn.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Gladys Ladd will be held today at 2 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Revs. Randall Dunaway and Robin Brumfield officiating. Burial will be in Henry’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Ladd, 78, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Houston and Betty Barrier; a son, Randy Ladd; one sister; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Wilbur W. Kiser

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Wilbur W. Kiser will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Robin Risher officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Union.
Mr. Kiser, 81, of Union, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at the Regency Hospital of Meridian. He was born in Burlington, Kan. and made his home in Lauratown, Ark. He lived in the County Line Community of Neshoba County for most of his adult life. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 138. He was a disabled American Veteran and he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, World War II Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
Survivors include his son, Wayne Kiser and his wife, Shelia, of Philadelphia and a brother, Everette Kaiser of Santa Nella, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Chesney Kiser in 2002.

GILBERTOWN, Ala. — Services for Edna Earl Napp will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Denham Baptist Church with the Rev. Chip Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Napp, 52, of Silas, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, in Waynesboro, Miss.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Lee “Roy” Napp; a son, Brad Napp; daughters, Lisa Stokley and Rita Sharpe and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the church.
Alice Virginia Wimberly
QUITMAN — Services for Alice Virginia Wimberly will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bernice Fleming and Edward Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in Andrew’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Wimberly, 80, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, in her home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Waynesboro.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, J.A. Wimberly of Quitman; children, George Wimberly and his wife, Delois, of Stonewall, Carole Wimberly Sykes and Billy Wimberly and his wife, Sandra, all of Quitman; grandchildren, Angela Sykes Raines, Lisa Stokely Turner and her husband, Michael, Holly Sykes Rhodes and her husband, Brian, Ginger Wimberly Alford and her husband, Tommy, Johnny Wimberly and his wife, Natalie; great-grandchildren, Joey Glass, Sara Carole Raines, Mikayla Turner, Jessica Wimberly, Jake Wimberly, Katelin Rhodes and Braydon Alford; sisters, Nonie Odom, Edna McRae and Frances Royce, all of Waynesboro and several nieces and nephews and a special friend, C.J. “Shug” Cranford.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Odom; her father, Ellis O’Neal; step-father, Pete Odom; brother, Arthur Odom; a grandson George Wimberly Jr. and a sister, Georgene Odom.
Pallbearers will be C.J. “Shug” Cranford, Larry Fleming, Steve Connor, Bob Longwitz, William Richardson, Steve Odom, Edward Shoemaker and Bernice Fleming.
Visitation will be today beginning at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charlie S. Wilkinson

Graveside services for Charlie S. Wilkinson will be held Friday at noon at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wilkinson, 80, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at Riley Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He worked for more than 45 years with East Mississippi Electric Power Association and retired as a line foreman. He was associated with the Boy Scouts for many years and served as Scout Master for Troop No. 4. He was a Charter Club dad and coached baseball and was known for his love of working outdoors.
Survivors include his sons, Charles M. Wilkinson, Gary Wilkinson and his wife, Sally, and Ray Wilkinson and his wife, Melonee, all of Meridian; a brother, James Wilkinson and his wife, Anita, of New Augusta; grandchildren, Will Wilkinson, Julie Martin and her husband, Zach, Sid Wilkinson and his wife, Angie, Ethan Wilkinson, Alyssa Wilkinson and Maggie Wilkinson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Dorman Wilkinson; parents, Jim and Allie Wilkinson; sisters, Annie Belle Murray and Frances Dees.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Smith, Charles David Smith, Wayne Henson, Johnny Brown, Zach Martin, Sid Wilkinson and Will Wilkinson.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Thomas, 72, of Conehatta, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Thomas; daughters, Glenna Phillips, Dwanna Charlie, Lenora Jim and Gloria Willis; sons, Fred, Theodore, Lyndon and Dewayne Thomas; four sisters; 33 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Turner, 95, of Shubuta, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, in her home.

Mr. Byrd, 96, of Macon, formerly of Scooba, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Noxubee County General Hospital in Macon.
He was preceded in death by his daughter and two brothers.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home in DeKalb.

KOSCIUSKO — Services for Pearl L. Summerlin were held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Keith Grubbs and LaVerne Summerlin officiating. Burial was in Kosciusko City Cemetery.
Mrs. Summerlin, 97, of Meridian, formerly of Kosciusko, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Brandon Courts in Brandon. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Meridian. She was a retired spinner at Aponaug Textile Mill.
Survivors include sons, Huey Summerlin and his wife, Neva, of Meridian and Sidney Summerlin and his wife, Margie, of Madison; a daughter, Sylvia Jenkins and her husband, James, of Meridian; a brother, Lexie Lishman of Kosciusko; sisters, Estelle Pendarves of Wiggins and Pauline Hodges of Leakesville; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.C. Summerlin; a son, Haywerd Summerlin; daughters, Joyce Posey and Shirley Dean and her parents, V.I. Lishman and Zenie Hannah.
