Robin Amelia Meeks of Canton and William Heath Thomas of Toomsuba were married on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at the Meeting House at Carillon Beach, Fla., with the Rev. Walter B. Staggs, great-uncle of the bride, officiating.
Parents of the couple are James G. and Dr. Catherine L. Dixon of Canton and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon R. Meeks of Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. John M. Thomas of Toomsuba and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Givens III of Quitman.
Grandparents of the bride is Mrs. Hilton L. Ladner and the late Mr. Ladner and Mrs. Ray Meeks and the late Mr. Meeks.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the Rev. and Mrs. George A. Skelton and Ruth Thomas and the late J.O. Thomas.
Music for the ceremony was provided by a string quartet.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore a strapless satin gown with a contoured bodice and ball gown skirt with drapes of satin encircling the skirt and sweep train.
Matron of honor was Kathryn Bell of Columbia, Md.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man.
Ring bearer was Logan Barrier.
Flower girls were Katie and Elizabeth Olive.
A tented reception was held at the Village Green at Carillon Beach.
After a honeymoon to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic,the couple will continue to travel as critical care nurses until 2007, when the groom will enter graduate school at the University of Alabama Medical Center.
