Carleen Miles
Retired
Graveside services for Carleen Miles will be held today at 10 a.m. at Arkadelphia Cemetery with the Rev. Robbie Bennett officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Miles, 75, of Meridian, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at Regency Hospital of Meridian. She was a retired registered nurse who worked at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, Matty Hersee and Meridian Convalescent Home.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda J. Miles of Meridian and Nita Williams and her husband, Gregg, of Bailey; two sons, Robert “Bobby” Miles and his wife, Judy, of Scooba and Clifton Miles of Bailey; a brother, Edward Gunn of Bailey; and three sisters, Margaret McKeithen and her husband, the Rev. Edward McKeithen of Eight Mile, Ala., Frances Grissom of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Jewel Cox of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Edward Miles Jr., and his wife, Frances and April Dancey and her husband, Jarrod, all of Meridian, Troy Harrison and his wife, Carol, of Dubach, La., Scott Miles and his wife, Nikki, Bronzon Miles and his wife, Heather, and Lizzie Williams, all of Bailey, Alec Miles and his wife, Diana, of Collinsville, Shaun Miles and his wife, Brenda, of Starkville, Tara Hayes of Laurel, and Kelly Waite and her husband, Charlie, of Newport Beach, Calif.; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Miles; and her parents, S.J. and Myrtle Gunn.
Pallbearers will be Robby Miles, Scott Miles, Troy Harrison, Alex Miles, Shaun Miles and Bronzon Miles.
Willard E. Taylor
Graveside services for Willard E. Taylor will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Stinson Cemetery with the Revs. Roy Dabbs and Danny Davis officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Taylor, 86, of Meridian, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 at Queen City Nursing Home. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, James Taylor; a daughter, Frances Banes; and a brother, Dophis Stanton all of Meridian; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira James Taylor.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Beulah W. McLemore
Services for Beulah W. McLemore will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Church of God Cemetery.
Mrs. McLemore, 81, of Meridian, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Jones Chapel Church of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary McLemore and Susan Hawkins, both of Meridian; a brother, Paul Wellborn of Lake Alfred, Fla.; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Odell McLemore.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hazel M. Hudler
Retired
Services for Hazel M. Hudler will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Shawn Minor and Derick Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Hudler, 80, of Meridian died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at Riley Hospital. She attended Bucatunna Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Dale Minor and her husband, Lee, and Michael Hudler and his wife, Vicki, all of Meridian; and her grandchildren, Shawn Minor, Melia Goodman and her husband, Neil, Kristen Minor, Ernest Minor, Michael Lee Hudler and his wife, Leta, and Heath Hudler, all of Meridian; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Minor, Hannah Goodman, Madalyn Goodman and Dylan Hudler; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest M. Hudler.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lillie Landrum
Services for Lillie Landrum will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cuba, Ala. with the Rev. Howard Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Kewanee with Enterprise Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Landrum, 90, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006.
Survivors include six sons, Bobby Landrum, Robert Landrum, John Landrum, J.C. Landrum, Larry Landrum and Arthur L. Landrum; four daughters, Annie Landrum, Jessie Smith, Bessie Cooley and Carolyn Cooley; a brother; six sisters; 36 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from noon-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Alanson Brown Smith
Retired
Services for Alanson Brown “A.B.” Smith, M.D., will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
Dr. Smith, 79, of Huntsville, Ala., died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 in his home. He retired from his 50-year practice of internal medicine in Meridian in September. He was a member of The Worldwide Church of God and was an avid sportsman.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Elliott; his sons, Alan Smith, Darrell Smith and Mike Proaps; his grandchildren, Eli Jellenc, Sidney and Wyatt Smith, Craig Proaps, Christy Seal, Alexandra Proaps, Michael Gordon Proaps, Kelly Proaps and Brenden Proaps; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aletha I. Smith and a son, Sidney Eli Smith.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be Tuesday at Barham Funeral Home from 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
