Services for Margaret E. Darden will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Meridian with the Rev. Dr. Zachary Operton officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Darden, 43, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Lazarus Darden; daughters, Denisha Darden and Aricka Rew; a son, Lazarius Darden, all of Meridian; her mother, Evaun Pettis and her husband, James; sisters, Evelyn Smith, Elaine Pettis, both of Chicago, Sandra Jones and Sharon Lenton, both of Meridian; brothers, Larry Pettis and his wife, Cynthia, Michael Pettis and his wife, Jackie, all of Chicago, Anthony Pettis, Robert Lenton, both of San Diego and Joseph Pettis of Atlanta.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, David Croft and Tyrone Ray Pettis.

Visitation will be Sunday from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.



Rosetta Rowe



Graveside services for Rosetta Rowe will be held today at 3 p.m. at Pentecostal Memorial Garden Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Tisdale officiating. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rowe, 85, of York, Ala., died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, in York.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Iona Estelline Tubby will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pearl River Facility Building. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery in Philadelphia. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tubby, 78, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, in her home.

Survivors include her sons, Darryl Tubby, Robert Tubby, Vernon Tubby and Mark Tubby; one sister; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation began Thursday at 5 p.m. at the family home.



Iva Lee Crenshaw



Services for Iva Lee Crenshaw will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Lan Randall and Joseph Hallman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Crenshaw, 87, of Meridian, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church and served on several church boards and committees. She was a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer. She was a member of Collinsville Homemakers Club, the Lula Moore Garden Club. She will be remembered as a loving, caring mother, God fearing and a supportive spouse, who worked her entire life guiding her family and friends in the direction of Christ.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, James Crenshaw of Meridian; sons, James Wayne Crenshaw and his wife, Lynn, Larry Crenshaw and his wife, Linda, Kyron Crenshaw and his wife, Brenda, all of Meridian and Danny Luke and his wife, Melanie, of Collinsville; a daughter, La Donna Smith and her husband, Ronnie, of Collinsville; grandchildren, Kerry Crenshaw and his wife, Missy, Tammy Ratcliff and her husband, Todd, Dawn Dobbins, Rachelle Black and her husband, Bobby, Richard Crenshaw and his wife, Suzanne, Susan Harwell, Mike Barnett, Heather McNeill and her husband, Frank, Ryan “Smitty” Smith, Jessy Dickson, Matthew Smith; great-grandchildren, Matthew Crenshaw, Dylan McEllhenney, Kayla Smith, Morgan Ratcliff, Brandon Black, Bethany Guire, Tres Dobbins, Eli Crenshaw, Campbell Horne, Brandon Crenshaw, Kimberly McMillan, Jake McNeill, Emma Claire McNeill and one great-great-grandchild, Alexander Guire; sisters, Margie Beeman and her husband, Thomas “T.W.”, Fannie Little and her husband, James; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Freeman and Lola Thames; a brother-in-law, Arthur Crenshaw and his wife, Julia and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pet and Ollie Freeman; sisters, Verna Mae Freeman and Gwendolyn Freeman; brothers, Odell Freeman, Excel Freeman, and Donald Freeman and a grandson, Tommy Dobbins Jr.

Pallbearers will be Richard Crenshaw, Kerry Crenshaw, Matthew “Smitty” Smith, Frank McNeill, Todd Ratcliff, Bobby Black and Matthew Crenshaw.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB — Services for Ella Bell Mosley will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark United Methodist Church in DeKalb with the Revs. Dr. Wayne Bass and Alvin Eubanks Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mosley, 81, of DeKalb, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at Mississippi Care Center of DeKalb.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home and on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Smith, 40, of Ruleville, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, in Ruleville.

Mrs. Partridge, 69, of DeKalb, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Regency Hospital of Meridian. She was born and raised in DeKalb. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Assembly of God Mamies Chapel Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet Hales Hanshew of Sontag; grandchildren, Angela Smith Richardson of Scooba, Jeannie Maerene Smith of Philadelphia and Carl Smith Jr., of Brandon; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Taylor, Alexis, Kameron, Zack, Keaton and Kaden; sisters, Alice Robinson, Mabel Lang, Bobbie Hall and Rose Lee, all of DeKalb; brothers, John Burkes of DeKalb and Billy D. Burkes of Meridian and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alton Partridge and Otis Murphy Hales Jr.; parents, Edgar and Rosie Burkes; a sister, Helen Steedley and brothers, James, Milton, Lester and Edgar Jr.

Visitation will be today beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Frank Strickland will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at East Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Pachuta, with the Rev. Claude McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Strickland, 86, of Pachuta, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the church.
