Eloise Clark Land

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Eloise Clark Land will be held today at 2 p.m. at Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church in Kemper County with the Revs. David Keller, John Branning and Tommy Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Land, 90, of DeKalb, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, in Kemper County. She was a lifelong resident of the Cleveland Community of Kemper County. She was a pianist of her church and for other churches. She was an active member of Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lou Mitchell and her husband, Willie Jim, of DeKalb; a son, Dr. Mack Land and his wife, Diane, of Memphis, Tenn.; granddaughters, Betty Mitchell Cossar and her husband, George, Barbara Mitchell Hilton and her husband, Wesley, Stephanie Land, Allison Land and Elizabeth Land; great-grandchildren, Mary Chandler Cossar, George Payne Cossar IV, Elizabeth Mitchell Cossar and Ellie Carol Hilton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Chandler Land.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, William Latimer, Ike Latimer, Billy Land, Clark Ethridge, Jesse Chandler Ethridge and Jim Clark.

Visitation will be today 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.



Hazel Ezell Smith

BUTLER, Ala. — Graveside services for Hazel Ezell Smith will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lisman Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith, 89, of Montgomery, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, in John Knoxx Manor in Montgomery, Ala.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan E. Williams; a son, Grant Ezell; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and her husband, Troy Smith.



Janice Inez Arant

Graveside services for Janice Inez Arant will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Davey Wilkinson officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Arant, 78, of Meridian, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, in Leake County. She was retired from Southern Publishing Company.

Survivors include her son, Ray Wilson and his wife, Rita, of Meridian; her daughter, Janice Johnson of Toomsuba; grandchildren, Carl Wilson, Michell Hopkins, Michael Johnson, Misty Cary, Jason Pritchett; a brother, Gerald Hamburg and his wife, Erline, of Oklahoma; sister, Geraldine Patrick and her husband, Pat, of Petal; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Arant.

Visitation will be held Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.



Olive Vinson Barber



Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Olive Vinson Barber, 80, of Meridian, who died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at the Regency Hospital of Meridian.
