Bertie Jenkins Jimerson

BUTLER, Ala. — Services for Bertie Jenkins Jimerson will be held today at 1 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Jerry Turner and Kendall Turner officiating. Burial will be in Mosley Cemetery in Gilbertown.
Mrs. Jimerson, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006.
Survivors include her daughters, Alice Gibson of Gilbertown and Sybil Frederick of Slidell, La.; her sons, Lamar Jimerson and Bobby Jimerson, both of Mobile, and Junior Jimerson of Ocean Springs, Miss.; her sister, Addie Cooper of Chatom; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reese Jimerson; her brother, J.W. Jenkins; and two sisters, Ora Hilton and Dorthy Martin.
Jeanette Baker Williams

NEWTON — Services for Jeanette Baker Williams will be held today at 2 p.m. at New Fellowship Baptist Church with the Revs. Phillip Gandy and Robert Rowzee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Williams, 84, of Hickory, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at her home. She was born in Hackleburg, Ala. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church for 63 years and taught Sunday school for many years.
Survivors include her sons, Dan Williams and his wife, Gloria, and Joe Williams and his wife, Tommie, all of Hickory; a daughter, Faye Anderson, and her husband, Michael, of Dothan, Ala.; four grandchildren, Joey Williams and his wife, Amy, Susan Dyess and her husband, Andre, all of Hickory; David Anderson of Grove Hill, Ala.; and Emily Mosley and her husband, Scott, of Hiram, Ga.; and her great-grandchildren, Hailey Williams, Conner Williams, Mallory Dyess and Madilyn Dyess, all of Hickory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.P. Williams (who she married Dec. 24, 1941); her parents, Daniel C. and Arnie Miller Baker; and three brothers, John, Kelly and Bob Baker.
The family requests memorials be made to the New Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3516 County Road 24 Hickory, MS 39332.
Pallbearers will be Joey Williams, David Anderson, Andre Dyess, James Williams, James Thorne and Scott Mosley.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Rev. Norman Arthur, the Rev. John West, James Mewbourne, Lavon Cochran, Lamar Thorne and Wayne Jones.
Visitation will be today 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Douglas M. Stapleton
STARKVILLE — Services for Douglas M. Stapleton will be held today at 3 p.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon with the Rev. Glen Miller officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Macon.
Mr. Stapleton, 55, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Survivors include his parents, Mary and Theodore Crabtree of Macon; his wife, Rhonda Stapleton of Starkville; three daughters, Dana Marie Merritt of Shuqualak; Leslie Ann Stapleton and Mary Nell Stapleton, both of Macon; two sisters, one brother and one grandchild.
Gregory “Scotty” Deweese
Services for Gregory “Scotty” Deweese will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Earley, Dr. Jason Bird and Joel Payne officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Deweese, 46, of Meridian, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was employed by Mitchell Distributing, and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Jay Deweese of Meridian; his children, Ryan Deweese and his wife, Aimee, of Collinsville, Matthew Tucker and his wife, April, Daniel Tucker and Crystal Haney, all of Meridian; his grandchildren, Kayley and Joshua Deweese, and Bryce Tucker; his mother, Catherine Deweese of Meridian; his sisters, Bonita Deweese of Meridian, and Sheila Mitchell and her husband, Todd, of Sandsprings, Okla.; his niece, Dirce Mitchell; his nephew, Chris Warren; and his uncle and aunt, E.J. and Lucille Hayes of Meridian.
The family requests memorial be made to Dayspring Villa Women’s Shelter, P.O. Box 1588, Sandsprings, OK 74063.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Murl Deweese.
Pallbearers will be Roy Dawson, Charles “Chick” Robinson, Robert Trout, Ernie Hill, Roger Thompson and Dan Sollie.
Honorary pallbearers will be Manny Mitchell and the employees of Mitchell Distributing.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements were incomplete at Clark’s Memorial Funeral Home for Willie L. Hopson, 63, of Meridian, who died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at Riley Hospital.
