QUITMAN — Graveside services for Mary Lucille Davis will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Leslie Roberts officiating. Wright’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Davis, 86, of Meridian, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Meridian Community Living Center. She was born on Aug. 20, 1920, in the Vimville Community and was a native of Lauderdale County.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Hermine Speed; grandchildren, Robert Stadler, Hermine Mary Speed-Leach, Cynthia Lenoir Speed, Hannelore Elaine Speed-Moore and Kevin Aleander Speed; great-grandchildren, Hermine Maisie Leach, Cathryn Fraizer Moore, Terry Nelson, Mia Gabriel Speed, Amelia Lee Leach, Taylor Hart Moore and Lance Nelson; several nieces and nephews, friends and care givers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Davis, a son, Ellis Ulmer Speed, and her parents, Cephas Johnson and Minnie Dora Taylor.

Services for Roy Clelon Cumberland will be held today at 11 a.m. at Lauderdale United Methodist Church with the Revs. Davey Wilkinson and Russell Luquire officiating. Burial will be in Lauderdale Springs Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cumberland, 77, of Lauderdale, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Lauderdale United Methodist Church. He was a member of Lakeview Senior Golf Association. He was the retired owner and operator of Cumberland General Merchandise at Lauderdale.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Cumberland of Lauderdale; sons, Mike Cumberland and his wife, Reneé, of Lauderdale, Keith Cumberland and his wife, Patti, of Amory and Gary Cumberland and his wife, Kaye, of Flora; sisters, Mozelle Yarbrough of Newton, Dianne Hackett and her husband, Ed, of Brandon, Sue Ely and her husband, James, and Sarah Chaney, all of Philadelphia; a brother, Dulane Cumberland and his wife, Linda, of Newton; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Inez Cumberland of Decatur; a brother, Gurvis Cumberland of Philadelphia; a sister, Tommie Jean Estes and a grandson, Justin Cumberland.
Memorials may be made to Children’s Building Fund, Lauderdale United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 67, Lauderdale, MS 39335.
Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Lakeview Seniors Golf Association.
Visitation will be today 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Keller, 70, of Meridian, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at the Regency Hospital. She was retired from Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., where she was director of surgical services.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Conyer of Nashville, and Jerry D. Conyer Jr., and his wife, Lisa, of Little Rock, Ark.; her mother, Dorothy Carpenter Wisenor of Meridian; a sister, Connie Sanders and her husband, Jack, of Meridian; and grandsons, William Conyer and Jerry Conyer III.

Mrs. Warren, 79, of Philadelphia, died Monday, July 17, 2006, at Bee Hive Homes in Philadelphia. She was a member of New Zion United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her sister, Sara Fox of Philadelphia.
Visitation will be today from 12:30 until service time at the funeral home.

UNION — Services for Mattie Lou Leach will be held today at 3 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James E. Griffith and Chris Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Leach, 86, of Brandon, formerly of Union, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, in Brandon Court Nursing Home. She was a member of New Ireland Baptist Church for more than 74 years. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and friend and a pleasure to be around. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her sons, Edward Leach and his wife, Carole, of Clinton, Jerry Leach and his wife, Beverly, of Brandon; a daughter, Geneva Leach Odom and her husband, Jimmy, of Dallas; a son-in-law, Davis French of Brandon; a sister, Louise Adams of Jackson; a brother, Erbie Barfoot of Jackson; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Leach, and a daughter, Lou Ellen French.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Leach, Kevin French, Brent Leach, Bryan Leach, Jeff Odom, Mitch Beckwith, B.J. Smith and Jakob Bearden.
Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Walker, 84, of Brookhaven, died Monday, July 17, 2006, in Brookhaven.

Mr. Stodard, 24, of Slidell, died Thursday, July 14, 2006, at Slidell Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Vanessa Stodard; mother, Kathy Stodard; a step-son, John Vinet; his grandparents, Clifton Stodard, Billy Weldon, Minnie Walker and Edith Harding; and eight siblings.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

WAYNESBORO — Services for Jenny Lynn Schutz Bishop were held Tuesday at Freeman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Shubuta Cemetery.
Mrs. Bishop, 29, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
Survivors include her husband of two months, Brent Bishop of Waynesboro; a sister, Wendy Roberts, her husband Daron, and beloved nephew Preston Luke; her brother, William Henry Schutz and his fiance Lisha Stewart; parents, Glenda Blount Schutz of Baton Rouge, La., and Larry Wayne and Linda Schutz of Williamsburg, Ky.; grandparents Henry and Ora Mae Blount of Baton Rouge and Edna Yates Schutz of Henderson, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, “Old Granny” Louise Truett Foster; her paternal grandfather, William F. Schutz; and her uncle, William Houston Schutz, “Uncle Billy.”
She was born in Jellico, Tenn. on Sept. 4, 1976. She graduated from high school in Williamsburg, Ky., and completed a travel agents course at Mundus Travel Institute in Baton Rouge, La., prior to serving four years active duty in the U.S. Air Force. She was working on her registered nurse certification from Meridian Community College.
Eloise Gary Davis
NEWTON — Services for Eloise Gary Davis were held Saturday, July 1, 2006, at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John West officiating. Burial was in Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis, 92, of Fulton, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on Nov. 21, 1913, to the late Charlie and Ella Doolittle Gary. She was a homemaker and long-time resident of Newton and was a recent resident of Dogwood Plantation in Fulton. She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church of Newton County and had the distinction of being the oldest living member of the congregation. She enjoyed working puzzles and keeping in touch with family and friends by phone and mail.
Survivors include her daughters, Jimmy Toberny and her husband, Louis, of Dallas, Jessie Ruth Wall and her husband, Dock, of Mantachie; grandchildren, Mike Blackwell, Jennifer Ismail, both of Dallas, Greg Wall and his wife, Stacy, of Fulton, Sonia Alford and her husband, Mike, and Randy Wall, all of Tupelo, Eric Wall of Lafayette, La.; great-grandchildren, Fayruoz Ismail, Sarah Ismail, Talal Ismail, Chandler Davis Wall, Lyndsey Grace Alford and Sydney Clair Alford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Gary, Ella Doolittle Gary and her step-mother, Sarah Harrison Gary; her husband, Jim Eugene Davis; a son, Taylor Eugene Davis; sisters, Annie Lou Spence, Martilde Carr and Tommy Loudermilk.
Pallbearers were Mike Blackwell, Greg Wall, Eric Wall, Randy Wall, Mike Alford, Lewis Earl Everett and Ras Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Montgomery and Earl Bolton.
