Paramore will be playing the HiFi Buys Amphitheatre in Atlanta on Wednesday as part of the Vans Warped Tour 2006.
Paramore features Hayley Williams as its lead singer. Originally from Meridian, she performed with Paramore in Meridian at the Temple Theatre last August, two days before Hurricane Katrina battered us all.
Based in the Nashville, Tenn., area, the alternative rock group can be found on the CD “Sound of Superman,” released as a companion to the anticipated blockbuster of the summer, “Superman Returns.”
The CD features Paramore doing an acoustic cover of The Foo Fighters song, “My Hero.”
Williams, who is 17, moved to Franklin, Tenn., with her family at the age of 13.
In Meridian she was involved in the Meridian Little Theatre and she won first place in the 2001 Jimmie Rodgers Memorial Festival Youth Talent Competition. She also is remembered for her appearance in the Mississippi television commercial promoting tobacco-free teens, in which she sings the “Star-Spangled Banner” and holds the final note for what seems like an eternity.

Running on Faith
Another Mississippi standout with lots of focus right now while she is currently on the road is Faith Hill, who topped the concert tour list this week with her husband Tim McGraw. The couple’s tour was the top grossing concert with Pearl Jam ranked second this week.
On tour through early September places Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are scheduled to play include: the New Orleans Arena on July 5; the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, La., on July 6; the Philips Arena in Atlanta on July 8; the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn., on July 9; the American Airlines Center in Dallas on July 21; the ALLTEL Arena in North Little Rock, Ark., on July 28; and the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville, Tenn., on July 29.
Check the Ticketmaster Web Site for more information, including details on how to bid on “ultimate experience” auctions available for many of their shows.
The winning bidder will receive two premium seats for the concert after attending a pre-show party featuring an intimate acoustic performance by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. The auction is only available through Ticketmaster.
