Jeanette Hofmister
UNION — Services for Jeanette Hofmister will be held today at 10 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy McDill and Wayne Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hofmister, 72, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Veterans Administration Nursing Facility in Kosciusko. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her son, Jamie Hofmister and his wife, Lisa, of Tupelo; grandchildren, Carlye Hofmister, Kelly Hofmister and Jack Hofmister, all of Tupelo; sisters, Mary Loden and her husband, Jerry, and Jerry Beason and her husband, Lonnie, all of Philadelphia and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hofmister and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melton Edwards.
Pallbearers will be Greg Jackson, Kenny Murphy, Doyle White, W.L. Smith, Anthony Dean and Jerry Dean.
Joseph Stemplewski
Services for Joseph Stemplewski will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Frances Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stemplewski, 88, of Crowley, La., died Friday, June 2, 2006, at the American Legion Hospital.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.
John W. Boutwell, Jr.
World War II Veteran
QUITMAN – Graveside services for John W. Boutwell, Jr. will be held today, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery with Wright’s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Boutwell, 88, of Enterprise, died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at his home.
He was retired from Southern Natural Gas Co. and is a World War II veteran. He was a member of Enterprise Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Villa Mae Boutwell and a son, John Boutwell, both of Enterprise, two daughters, Catherine Robinson and her husband Warren of Birmingham, Ala. and Martha E. Jones and her husband, David, of Wheaton, Ill.; a brother, Woodruff Boutwell of Gulf Shores, Ala. and a sister Addie Ruth Hesell of Iuka, two grandchildren; Whitney Robinson and Shannon Robinson of Birmingham, Ala.

BUTLER, Ala. — Graveside services for Ronald Edward “Ronnie” Dearmon will be held today at 11 a.m. at Kimbrough Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Scottie Fulcher officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dearmon, 59, died Saturday, June 3, 2006, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Dearmon; sons, Jeremy Dearmon and Jay Dearmon; a daughter, Casey Taylor; one sister and three grandchildren.

GULFPORT — Graveside services for Gary Paul Howington will be held today at 11 a.m. in Heucks Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Howington, 56, of Gulfport, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, in Gulfport. He was a resident of Gulfport for the past few months and was a former resident of Jackson, where he attended school. He was a musician and a member of Alta Woods Baptist Church in Jackson. He loved the outdoors and animals.
Survivors include his daughter, Angel Goldberg of St. Louis; his parents, Paul and Earline Howington of Diamondhead; a sister, Deborah Howington of Biloxi; a brother, Jim Howington of Diamondhead and a nephew, Brandon Howington of Diamondhead.

Mrs. Smith, 65, of Toomsuba, died Saturday, June 6, 2006, at Regency Hospital in Meridian. She was an employee of The Meridian Star.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence “Pete” Smith of Toomsuba; daughters, Vickie Smith and Eileen “Anna” Moreno; a brother, Charles Johnson; sisters, Evalyn McCutcheon, Susan Little and Alice Huff and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Alvey and June A. Johnson.

Mrs. Martin, 64, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Choctaw Health Center.
Survivors include her husband, John Robert Martin; daughters, Viviann Joe, Jennifer Bell and Deanna Martin; sons, Robert Martin, Curtis Martin, Kenneth Martin and Brian Martin; one sister; one brother; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ms. Manuel, 50, of Stonewall, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta.

QUITMAN — Services for Lola Adell Anderson were held Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson, 92, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, in Quitman. She was born in Clarke County on March 6, 1914, and lived many years in Pascagoula. She will be remembered as a devoted Christian and lived every day of her life according to God’s teachings in the Bible.
Survivors include her husband, Wilkie Anderson; a son, Hoyt Anderson and his wife, Carolyn, of Pascagoula; grandchildren, Clifton Anderson and his wife, Teressa, of Pascagoula, Susan Cochran and her husband, Lynn, of McLain, Laurie Jones and her husband, Greg, of Diamondhead; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister, Myrtle Grace Lewis of Quitman; a half-sister, Velma Lewis McGrew and a half-brother, Howard Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Julian Doy Lewis, Carey O’Destin Lewis, Grady Leon Lewis and Leona Lewis Ivey; her parents, Sara Louise Lewis and Thomas Lewis.
