Addie Reatha Logan



MAYWOOD, Ill. —Services for Addie Reatha Logan were held Monday, May 8, 2006, at Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Maywood. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery. Wallace Brookview Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Logan, of Maywood, Ill., died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, in Maywood.

She was born on Feb. 6, 1936 in Meridian, Miss., to the late Sam and Addie Brookins. She was the youngest of 14 children, eight born to this union.

She attended Tennessee State University of Nashville, and moved to Joliet, Ill., where she met her late husband, James Logan. They were married for 42 1/2 years.

Addie Reatha was a long time member of the Meridianites, Inc. social club, receiving honors from both the Northern Region and the National Council of Meridianites, Inc. She was an esteemed Maywood Council Member and since 1990 was the owner and operator of the Margery Daw Day Care Center in Maywood.

She accepted Christ at a young age, and joined Rock of Ages Baptist Church in 1998, under the leadership of the Rev. Marvin E. Wiley. Addie lived well, worked hard, loved to travel, adored children and cherished her family and friends.

Survivors include her sons, Kent Logan and his wife, Tracy, James Logan Jr. and his wife, Dina, and Eric Logan; a daughter, Marcia Jones and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Stacy Adams, Le-Sa Jones, Anthony Logan, Bobby Logan, Dominique Logan, Jessica Logan, Erica Logan, Quintin Logan and Catrina Logan; sisters, Johnnie Trotter of Atlanta, Margaret Pickett of Bellwood, Ill., and Rosetta Flowers and her husband, Odell, of Joliet, Ill., brothers, Nathaniel Brookins of Meridian, Lamar Brookins of Joliet, Henry Brookins and his wife, Irma, of Joliet and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Logan; her parents and brothers, Sherman, John Mittese, Richard, Howard, Sherrod, Bill and Sam Brookins Jr.

Pallbearers were Kevin Brookins, Andre Brookins, Ray Flowers, Marty Flowers, Quintin Logan and Michael Brent. Honorary pallbearers were Nathaniel Brookins, Lamar Brookins and Henry Brookins.



Matthew Scott Netto Jr.



Graveside services for Matthew Scott Netto Jr. will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Lyn Nations officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Infant Netto, of Meridian, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Rush Foundation Hospital.

Survivors include his father, Matthew Scott Netto of Meridian; his mother, Desiree Nicole Doerner of Collinsville; grandparents, Billy and Linda Doerner of Bogue Chitto and Connie and Jerry Riley of Causeyville; great-grandparents, R.W. and Cecile Stokley, Collinsville, Ray and Velma Atkinson of Meridian and Max and Kay Keller of Meridian; aunts and uncles, Josh and Michelle Carpenter, Kris and Carmen Netto; several cousins; great-aunts and great-uncles, Matt and Sandy Feathers, Jerry and Marci Smith, Dale and Teresa Moss, Jerry and Fern Hedglin, Hack and Robin Smith, Cathy Sivyer and Johnny and Kim Doerner.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Velma Atkinson.



James M. McNeil Sr.

SUMRALL — Services for James M. “Mac” McNeil Sr. will be held Friday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Advance Cemetery.

Mr. McNeil, 70, of Hattiesburg, died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.

Survivors include his wife, Linda McNeil; a son, James M. McNeil Jr.; daughters, Pamela Myers and Tandra Jenkins; three sisters and one brother and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m.



Martha Jane Christopher Harrison

Retired



Memorial services for Martha Jane Christopher Harrison will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Harrison officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harrison, 82, of Meridian, died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She worked at Dee’s Automotive until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bridge and traveling. She enjoyed being at the beach with her family. She had been a resident of Long Beach for 15 years before moving back to Meridian in 2005.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Townsend and her husband, Jack, of Killen, Ala.; sons, Charles H. Christopher II and his wife, Mary Ann, of Beaver Creek, Ohio and Jack Christopher and his wife, Lisa, of Meridian; grandchildren, Corbyn Townsend, Braden Townsend, Charles H. Christopher III, Thomas E. Christopher, Hannah Christopher, Jack Christopher Jr. and Logan Christopher; great-grandchildren, Alanna Christopher, Liam Christopher and Rustin Townsend; and several nieces and nephews and several other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack O. Harrison.

Memorials may be made to General Memorial Fund at Central United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.



Charles Billingsley

Retired



Graveside services for Charles Billingsley will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Allen Gibson and Jimmy Sanders officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Billingsley, 78, of Meridian, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian. He was a retired U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. He was a lifetime member of Veterans Foreign Wars and received several medals including the Good Conduct medal with four stars, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two stars.

Survivors include his sister, Audrey McLamb of Demopolis, Ala.; niece, Sheri K. Barrett and her husband, Gary, of Dallas and a nephew, Jerry Harper of Demopolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillie Billingsley and three nephews.

Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

John Wayne Smith



UNION — Services for John Wayne “Pee Wee” Smith will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Smith, 40, of Saint George, Utah, died Sunday, May 7, 2006, in Utah.

Survivors include his mother, Margene Smith; daughters, Madison Smith and Tiffany Smith of Saint George, Utah; sisters, Katy Diana Adkins and her husband, Daniel, of Perry, Ga., Brenda Chaney and her husband, Ricky, of Little Rock; brothers, John Paul Smith of Pascagoula, Robert Wayne Smith and his wife, Vandra, of Benton, La., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Hickman Smith.

Pallbearers will be Tracey Chaney, Kevin McMahen, Matt Dean, Joel Harrison, Barry Harrison and Jimmy Killen.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Robert Morgan Payne Sr.



Graveside services for Robert Morgan Payne Sr. will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Lawrence Hill officiating. Enterprise Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Payne, 56, of Dayton, Ohio, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Hospice in Dayton.



Jimmy Scott Franklin



Services for Jimmy Scott Franklin will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Ray Clark officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Franklin, 54, of Meridian, died Monday, May 8, 2006, in his home.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
