Julian Edward Walker
YORK, Ala. — Services for Julian Edward Walker will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at York Baptist Church. Burial will be in York Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Walker, of York, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Miss. He served in the Thirteenth Airborne Division with the U.S. Army during World War II as a paratrooper. He was a graduate of the school of Banking of the South and attended Auburn University. He was active with the Alabama Bankers Association and served as Director of the Independent Bankers Association of Alabama. He also served for 25 years as York City Councilman. He served two terms as president of the York Lions Club, one term as president of the York Chamber of Commerce, one term as chairman of Sumter County Charity Fund and four consecutive years as chairman of the Deacons at York Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Evans Walker; his son, Dr. Julian Edward Walker Jr. and his wife, Jean Robinson Walker; a sister, Francis Walker Shannon; a daughter-in-law, Sara Hardin Walker; grandchildren, the Rev. Robin Walker Palmer and her husband, David, Dr. Leslie Walker Bickford and her husband, Heath, Marty Walker and his wife, Christy, Kevin McElroy and his wife, Aubrey, Lynne Walker and her husband, Juan; great-grandchildren, Mabry Palmer, Leslie Palmer, Kevin Harmon McElroy and Baby Bickford.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rick Walker; a granddaughter, Julia Mabry Walker and his parents, Arthur Preston Walker and Anie Dearman Walker.
Memorials may be made to York Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Dan Shannon, Hunter Malone, Jacky Smith, Don Hardin, Allison Derby, Ralph Parten, R.B. Webb and Glenn Long.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of York Baptist Church, G.F. Williams, Billy Rawson, J.C. McElroy Jr. and Bessie Williams.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for R.B. Lewis will be held today at 2 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Revs. Dennis Duvall, Lawrence Runnels and Chris Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis, 89, of Philadelphia, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Lewis; sons, Gerald Lewis, Larry Lewis and Dwight Lewis; one sister and one brother; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Willie Marion Carlisle
GILBERTOWN, Ala. — Services for Willie Marion “Buster” Carlisle will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Young and Clyde Dykes officiating. Burial will be in Gilbertown Cemetery.
Mr. Carlisle, 81, of Gilbertown, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile.
Survivors include his sons, Willie Carlisle and Russell Carlisle; a daughter, Carol Jimerson; two sisters; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis, 46, of Waynesboro, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Davis; father, Howard Williams; sons, Jason Davis and Adam Davis; a daughter, Vanessa Stevens; one brother and one sister and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Catherine Courtney Carroll will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Neil Wigley, Lamar Lifer and Richard Carroll II officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Carroll, 80, of Meridian, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for more than 42 years. She was treasurer of the Chapel Sunday school class. She was a member in the XYZ Activities at Central United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of Southern Seniors which is a retirement organization from Norfolk-Southern Railroad. She was a retired nurse and a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughters, Janice Goss of Marietta, Ga., Patricia Hamilton and her husband, Franklin, of Meridian; a son, Richard Arnold Carroll and his wife, Marcia, of Meridian; grandchildren, Richard Carroll II and his wife, Brandi, of Baton Rouge, La., Randy Carroll of Brandon, Karen Burke and her husband, Barry, of Marietta, Randa Patch Wigley and her husband, Neil, of Lucedale, Robin Patch Acord and her husband, Joseph, of Hickory, Steven Hamilton and his wife, Reneé of Meridian, Angela Hamilton of Meridian, Jennifer Murphy and her husband, Andrew, of Southaven and David Hegwood and his wife, Danya; great-grandchildren, Olivia Carroll, Kathryn Burke, Ashley Wigley, Alexander “Alex” Wigley, Ainsley Wigley, Anna Wigley, Tyler Acord, Ashton Acord, Lauren Acord, Ashton Hamilton, Alexis Hamilton, Lauren Hegwood, Caty Hegwood, Colten Hegwood, Molly Murphy, Jacob Murry and Mary Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Randolph Arnold Carroll; her parents, Samuel T. Courtney and Janie Thompson Courtney.

Mr. Tisdale, 78, of Meridian, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his son, Howard Tisdale of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Cheryl Fitzhugh of Meridian; grandchildren, Melissa Rash Spears of Collinsville, Kari Tisdale Green of Idaho and Justin Tisdale of Amarillo; great-grandchildren, Casey Spears of Collinsville, Karli Contreras of Idaho and Austin Spears of Collinsville; sisters, Betty Franks and her husband, Bo, of Magnolia and Christine Tisdale of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Claudine Tisdale.

Mrs. Gentry, 86, of Macon, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus.
Survivors include her daughters, Fay Waid and Mary Pugh; a son, Johnny Gentry; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ms. Risher, 55, of Vicksburg, died Monday, April 24, 2006, in Jackson. She was a graduate of Delta State University and was very active in Delta State University Alumni Association.
Survivors include her brothers, Charles Risher Jr. of Cornelius, N.C. and Tom D. Risher of Florence, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude V. Risher and Charles A. Risher Sr. and a brother, John Michael Risher.

Ms. Stennis, 94, of Meridian, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Queen City Nursing Home.

Mr. Wallace, 63, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Wallace and Rosetta Powell Wallace.
