• PHILADELPHIA — First Baptist Church will sponsor the weekly summer concert series, “First Friday,” from May 5 to Aug. 4 in the church’s Christian Life Center. Local contemporary Christian bands will perform; admission is one canned food item, which will be donated to the Neshoba Baptist Food Pantry.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Concessions will be available and door prizes given away. A love offering will be taken for the bands. Concerts will begin at 8:10 p.m. Open to all age groups; children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, unless attending with a church group.

• JACKSON — Promise Keepers will return to the Mississippi Coliseum Aug. 4-5 for “Unleashed: Releasing the Raw Power of Your Heart.” The event will feature a music concert, six keynote speakers and live worship.
Promise Keepers is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to introducing men of all ages to Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord and then helping them to grow as Christians.
