Mychal Chase Neal
Mychal Chase Neal has been selected to receive the Eddie Holladay Scholarship at Meridian Community College. The $1,000 award is funded through the MCC Foundation from an endowment established by his family and friends. Holladay is a former Foundation Board member and a staunch supporter of the college.
Neal is a 2001 graduate of Clarkdale High School. A Dean’s List scholar, he is a member of Delta Epsilon Chi-Distributive Educational Clubs of America. He works part time and is a youth leader and choir member of his church. Neal is a sophomore in the Marketing Management Technology Program with plans to pursue a master’s degree in business.

Steve Hamilton
Steve Hamilton of Meridian has been selected to receive the Glen Deweese Scholarship at Meridian Community College. The $1,600 award is funded through the MCC Foundation from an endowment established in 1993. Mr. Deweese was owner of the Super Stop! stores, community leader, state senator for 16 years, and strong proponent of education in general and MCC in particular. He was a member of the board of directors of the MCC Foundation at the time of his death.
Hamilton is a 1988 graduate of Jeff Davis Academy. A Dean’s List scholar, he is in the Drafting and Design Technology Program. In addition to his class work, Hamilton works full time, is a husband, and is the father of a 5-year-old and a 1-year-old. He is a member of the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America. His goal is to own his own drafting business.

Tomas William Jones
Tomas William Jones of Collinsville has been selected to receive The Radio People Scholarship at Meridian Community College. The $1,500 award is funded through the MCC Foundation by F.E. Holladay, owner of several local and regional stations.
Jones completed the General Educational Development program at Meridian Community College in 2001. He is a sophomore in the University Transfer Program studying communications. He is a member of the Student Association of Broadcasters and Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year college students. He works part time at the MCC Production Center and part time as a master control operator with a local television station.
Stephanie Gooch
Stephanie Gooch of Lauderdale has been selected to receive the Bonita Lakes Mall Scholarship at Meridian Community College. The $1,200 award is funded through the MCC Foundation by Bonita Lakes Mall.
Gooch is a 2004 graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School. A sophomore in the University Transfer Program, she is a member of the College Activities Board and Business Student Organization. Gooch is a member of the Young People of Praise and a Sunday school teacher. Her career goal is to become a marketing executive for a fashion company.

Tomika F. Hardin
Tomika F. Hardin of Louisville has been selected to receive the Dr. O.D. Polk Sr. Memorial Scholarship at Meridian Community College. The $500 award is funded through the MCC Foundation by Dr. Octavius D. Polk Jr. of Silver Springs, Md. Dr. Polk Sr., practiced medicine in Meridian for 40 years. He served on the Board of Trustees of Meridian Community College and Meridian Public Schools.
Hardin is a 2000 graduate of Louisville High School. She is married and the mother of three. A third semester student in the associate’s degree nursing program, Hardin is a member of the Organization of Student Nurses and the Mississippi organization for student nursing. She would like to work in the surgical area after graduation. Hardin is a member of the Total Praise Ministries gospel choir.

Milton Woodall
Milton Woodall of Stonewall has been selected to receive the Winnie P. Crampton Nursing Scholarship at Meridian Community College. The $500 award is funded through the MCC Foundation from an endowment established by Edward H. Crampton in honor of his wife. Mrs. Crampton dedicated her life to her God, her family and friends and her nursing career, which spanned over 27 years. She was especially proud that nursing students would benefit from this scholarship.
Woodall is a 1994 high honors graduate of Quitman High School. He is a member of the Mississippi Organization of Student Nurses and has been named to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.” Woodall is the father of a 7-year-old daughter and works part time at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. His goal is to work toward a master’s of science degree in nursing.
