Rhonda Lynn Smith of Meridian and Brad Joseph Kavan of Columbia, Tenn., were married on Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, in a beach ceremony in Gulf Shores, Ala. with the Rev. James F. Mitchell Jr. officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Philip Smith of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Joseph Kavan of Columbia, Tenn.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mears of Meridian and Charlie Smith of Biloxi and the late Nora Smith.

The bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joie Kavan of Morse Bluff, Neb. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dick Livingston of Collinsville.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white gown of chiffon embellished with beaded Venise lace trim that flowed into a sweep train. She wore a fingertip-length veil of chiffon and carried a hand tied bouquet of silk Gerber daisies.

Maid of honor was Amanda Smith of Meridian, sister of the bride.

Kary Moore of Collinsville served as best man.

A reception was held at Gulf Shores Wedding Chapel following the beach ceremony.

On the eve of the wedding a rehearsal dinner was held at Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s at Homeport Marina.

After a honeymoon to Walt Disney World, the couple resides in Columbia, Tenn.
