Lauren Ashley Harrison and William Charles Ledbetter were united in marriage on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Jackson. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Stan Buckley.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ernest Harrison Jr. of Madison. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. L. F. Brown and the late Mr. Brown of Cleveland, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ernest Harrison of Jackson.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fletcher Ledbetter of Meridian. He is the grandson of Mr. Don French of Jackson, Ala., and the late Mrs. Barbara French of Birmingham, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Ledbetter of Linden, Ala.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory gown of satin and English net designed with a strapless sweetheart neckline with delicately beaded Alencon lace. The bodice was accented with beaded matching lace on English net over satin, with satin bands at the empire waistline embellished with seed pearls, crystals, sequins, bugle beads and rhinestones. The fit and flair skirt of English net over satin was enhanced with delicate beaded Alencon lace, cascading down to the scalloped lace hemline of the chapel-length train.
The bride wore an elegant cathedral-length veil of illusion, enhanced with hand-beaded lace on the edge that fell from a crystal and rhinestone comb. She carried a white, cream and soft pink hand-tied bouquet of roses, hydrangeas and peonies.
Leslie Harrison, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Anderson, Jenny Lind Boone, Amy Campbell, Jocelyn Dill, Chelsea Frazer, Anne Marie Tolson, Melissa Ledbetter, sister of the bridegroom, Shaunna McCormick, Heather Moffatt, Margaret Smith and Mary Margaret Thiel.
The father of the bridegroom was best man. Groomsmen were Richmond Alexander, David Bailey, Bernie Brannan, Lewis Cole, cousin of the groom, Marc Corkern, Weldon Doe, Bradley Futch, Peyton Smith, Erik Tolleson, Charles Waring and Daniel Whitehead.
Nuptial music was presented by James Arrington Goff, organist; Eva Hart, pianist. Vocalists were Emily Ethridge and Catherine Sledge.
Scripture was read by Jeannie Waller. Program attendants were LindsayAnn Anderson, Megan Tyson and Bess Wilder, cousin of the bridegroom. Caroline Sledge served as the bride’s proxy. Allison Nash attended the bride’s registry.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Old Capitol Inn, where guests dined and danced to the music of The Tip Tops.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Mississippi Museum of Art. A bridesmaid’s luncheon was held at the home of T.J. and Gwen Anderson.
After a wedding trip to the Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple is at home in Birmingham.
