MERIDIAN —     Elizabeth Menton McGinnis and Matthew Wahrendorff Deweese, both of Gainesville, Fla., were married Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church with The Very Rev. Edward F. O’Connor and the Rev. J. Brian Ponder officiating.

    Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. James Earl McGinnis III and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Douglass Deweese, all of Meridian.

    Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. James Earl McGinnis Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Miles Shirley, all of Meridian.

    Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. Wayne Louis Wahrendorff and the late Mrs. Carmin Wahrendorff, Mrs. Janice Deweese Jones and her husband, Mr. Owen Jones, and the late Glen Sennett Deweese, all of Meridian.

    Music for the ceremony was provided by Mr. David Benson, pianist and organist; Susie Johnson, flutist; Benjamin Johnson, cellist; and K.K. Johnson, violinist, all of Meridian.

    The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Jim and Cindy McGinnis. She wore a strapless Romona Keveza A-line gown made of Point d’Esprit lace with a cathedral-length train and an antique Belgium lace veil.

    The bride’s sister, Miss Caroline Kimbrell McGinnis of Meridian, and her best friend, Miss Hannah Eleanor Ford of West Hollywood, Calif., served as her maids of honor.

    Other attendants were Hayley Barber of Brandon, Carly Deweese Brimer of Birmingham, Ala., Andy Kutcher of New Orleans, La., Stephanie Maxwell of Little Rock, Ark., Erin Sanford of Mobile, Ala., Mary Rogers Sorey of Durham, N.C., and Claire White of Memphis, Tenn.

    Sarah Paige Shirley was flower girl, and Conner Shirley was ring bearer, both of Meridian.

    The bridegroom’s father and the bridegroom’s brother, Mr. Thomas Sennett Deweese, served as best men.

    Groomsmen were Sam Baber of Little Rock, Ark., Mitch Carrington of Oxford, Mohamed Hajj of Miami, Fla., Dylan Maples of Meridian, Davis McGinnis of Oxford, Joey Quillin of Shreveport, La., and Chad Tobler of New Orleans, La.

    Ushers were Adam Brimer of Birmingham, Ala., and Sloan Holley of Houston, Texas.

    A reception was held at the MSU Riley Center following the ceremony.

    After a honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple resides in Gainesville.
