MERIDIAN —

    Kristen Paige Ray of Cuba, Ala., and Evan Allison Derby III of York, Ala., were married Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 6 p.m., on a dock overlooking the river at Mimosa Ridge in Belmont, Ala., with U.S. Navy Chaplain Michael Chaney officiating.

    Parents of the couple are Ms. Merrie Harrell Ray of Cuba, Ala., Mr. Stephen Craig Ray Sr. of Livingston, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Allison Derby Jr. of York.

    Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Harrell of Cuba, Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Castleberry of Livingston, Ala., and the late Mr. Charles Edcar Ray of Centre, Ala.

    Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mrs. Evan Allison Derby and the late Mr. Derby of York and Mrs. Joe Carter Montgomery and the late Mr. Montgomery of Siloam, Ala.

    Music for the ceremony was provided by John Brown, pianist.

    The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.

    Matron of honor was Stephanie Ray Kelley of Kathleen, Ga., sister of the bride.

    Bridesmaids were Kate Derby of York, sister of the bridegroom, Jeanna Vice of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Leah Harwell Sornsin of Livingston and Casey Williams of Epes.

    The father of the bridegroom served as best man.

    Groomsmen were Stevie Ray of Cuba, brother of the bride, Val Montgomery of Meridian, uncle of the bridegroom, Justin Bryan and Chad Bryan, both of Scooba, and Eric Handley of Sebring, Fla.

    Program attendant was Macy Montgomery of Meridian, cousin of the bridegroom.

    A reception was held at Mimosa Ridge following the ceremony.

    After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple resides in York.
