Kennedy, Moore





Castlen Elizabeth Moore of Houston, Texas, and Cory Garrett Kennedy of Austin, Texas, were married on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 7 p.m. at Green Pastures in Austin. The Rev. T. Douglas Ferguson of Grace Presbyterian Church in Houston conducted the ceremony, with assistance from Jane Pettit.

Parents of the couple are Janie Mitts Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Steven Dee Moore, all of Houston, and Diane Brouillard Kennedy of Reno, Nev.

Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Fielden William Mitts Jr. of Enterprise, Miss., and the late Mr. Mitts and the late Mr. and Mrs. Foster D. Moore of Houston.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Blanche Lucille Brouillard of Chico, Calif. and Kathryn Ennis Kennedy of Santa Rosa, Calif.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Divisi Strings, which included a harp, violin and cello. The harp in the trio was in memory of the bride’s grandmother, Violet Parsons White of Savannah, Ga.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a strapless silk Paloma Blanco design with a sweetheart neckline. The gown featured a ruched bodice with an ivory bow with tails at center back. To complement the gown, she chose a cathedral-length veil. The bride carried a bouquet of roses, tulips and hydrangeas.

Maid of honor was Christina Mitts Moore of Houston, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Julia Meier Moore of Atlanta, Ga., sister of the bride; Catherine Dee Moore of Houston, sister of the bride; Kelly Kachler Adams of Houston; and Cheryl Ann Dalton of Los Angeles, Calif.

Cody Justin Kennedy of Vail, Colo., brother of the bridegroom, was best man.

Groomsmen were Erik David Anderson of Denver, Colo.; Mark Patrick Krewedl of Seattle, Wash.; Kevin Michael Lausten of Boulder, Colo.; and, Brent Charles Snyder of Minneapolis, Minn.

Junior groomsmen were Jeremy Scott Uithoven and Joshua Edward Uithoven of Reno, Nev.

Joel Ryan Uithoven of Reno was ring bearer.

Members of the house party were Morgan McKenna Burnham of Austin; Mina Kim of New York, N.Y.; Jill LynLee Marshall of Austin; Sonali Parikh Morris of Houston; and, Lindsay Morris Mousoudakis of Houston.

Ushers were Travis Miller Griffin of Austin; William David Krampitz of Houston; Michael Allen Schieffer of Austin; and Robert Scott Uithoven of Reno.

A reception was held following the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of Memorial High School in Houston, and received a bachelor of business administration degree in 2001 from the University of Texas at Austin. At UT, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

The bride is currently working on a double master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin in public affairs and energy and earth resources. She is employed by Apache Corporation in Houston.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Reno High School in Reno, and received a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2001 from the University of Colorado at Boulder. At UC, he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.

The bridegroom is currently employed by Ryan Erwin and Associates, a political consulting firm in Austin.

After a honeymoon in Italy, the couple will reside in Austin.
