Wood, Hawkins





Jessica Lynn Hawkins of Meridian and Jordan Daniel Wood of Jackson were married on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Northpark Church in Meridian, with the Rev. Joel Ainsworth, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Hawkins of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Wood of Madison.

Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. Odell McLemore and the late Mr. and Mrs. D.D. Hawkins.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Dr. and Mrs. Gordon McHenry of Madison and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Wood.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Linda T. Arledge, pianist; Dusty Culpepper, violinist; Kay Stewart, handbells; Erin Rohr, vocalist; and, Jordan Harris, guitar and vocalist.

The scriptural reading was presented by the Rev. and Mrs. Earl T. Wheatley Jr., who read from 1 Corinthians: 13.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a Casa Blanca diamond white silky taffeta gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and ruched bodice. The gown was adorned with intricately beaded and embroidered appliqués. The skirt featured box pleats, embroidery and a cathedral-length train. For her headpiece, she wore a crystal-trimmed cathedral-length veil.

Maid of honor was Sara Abigail Hawkins of Southaven, sister of the bride. Other attendants were Tara Diane Clayton of Meridian; Erin Wheatley Rohr of Fort Worth, Texas; Tiffany Starns Ritchie of Slidell, La.; Heather Vallot Land of Nashville, Tenn.; Jill Renell Truhett of Hattiesburg; and Emily Wood Ainsworth of Charleston, S.C., sister of the bridegroom.

Flower girl was Julia Grace Wood of Alexandria, Va., cousin of the bridegroom.

The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were William Allen Twiner III of Nashville; Eliott Colby Vines of Clinton; Justin Alan Qualls, Michael Warren Foster and James Samuel Strickland, all of Jackson; and Jordan Tyler Harris of Tyler, Texas.

Ami Leigh Bumpus of Ridgeland served as proxy bride as well as guest book attendant.

Ryan Edward Stewart of D’Iberville and Robert Price Ledbetter of Southaven served as program attendants.

The wedding was directed by Debbie Miles and Danielle McAlister.

A reception was held at Union Station following the ceremony. Music was provided by Carey Smith and Friends.

On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Hilton Garden Inn. A bridesmaid’s brunch was hosted by Charlene Cermak on the morning of the wedding.

After a honeymoon in Antigua, the couple resides in Jackson.
