Harris, Lowe

Courtney Marissa Lowe and Jared William Harris of Marion were married on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Collinsville, with the Rev. Hal Bates officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lowe of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Harris of Marion.

Grandparents of the bride are Doris Lowe Slay and the late James Edward Lowe of Laurel and the late Mr. and Mrs. Orville Van Fossen Sr. of Ellisville.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Annie B. Harris and the late James L. Harris of Meridian and the late John W. and Mary B. Laughlin of Jackson.

Escorted by her father, the bride entered the church wearing a sheath gown of silk embroidered lace designed by Oleg Cassini. The gown featured a ruched bodice with lace cap sleeves. The fitted waistline was encircled with satin ribbon accents, which fell into a chapel-length train.

Marketta Reddoch of Laurel served as matron of honor. Other attendants were Grace Ann Seal of Taylorsville, Emily Walker of Collinsville and Donna Sims of Vicksburg.

Madison Reddoch of Laurel, cousin of the bride, and Maggie Grace Harris of Meridian, niece of the bridegroom, served as junior bridesmaids.

Flower girl was Callie Sims of Vicksburg, cousin of the bride.

Jeremiah Seal of Taylorsville served as best man. Groomsmen were Aaron Burton of Fairmont, W. Va., Chase Lowe of Hattiesburg, brother of the bride, and Doug Kennedy of Meridian.

Ushers were Matthew Downing of Shelton, W. Va. and Michael Burton of Meridian.

Junior groomsman was Donnie Harold Murphy III of Laurel, cousin of the bride.

Special music was presented by Marketta Reddoch, soloist; Grace Ann Seal, soloist, and Jeremiah Seal, guitarist; and Tina Dean, pianist.

A reception was held at The Gathering Place immediately following the ceremony. Audrey Ghatas, Orvillette Johnson and Udith Pippen, the bride’s aunts, were in charge of the wedding and reception. Randel Walker sat at the bridal register.

Following a honeymoon to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Flowood, where the bride is a registered nurse in surgery with Baptist Health Systems and the bridegroom is employed with Southern Pipe and Supply Company Inc. in their manager development program.
