Heather Elyse Kirkland and William Scott Moseley were married on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at 5 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church, with the Revs. James Ruffin and Malcolm Lewis officiating.
Parents of the couple are Nancy Daws Kirkland of DeKalb and Danny Kirkland of Pachuta and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moseley of Bailey.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mary Jane Daws of DeKalb and the late Wilmer C. Daws Jr. She is the great-granddaughter of Ora B. Hudnall.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Bettye Crocker of Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. Joe McLain of Montgomery, Ala.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Richard Ferguson, vocalist; Brenda Hooks, pianist; and Jerry Hooks, trumpeter.
The bride wore a strapless gown of white sleek satin that featured a sweetheart bodice lined with A-line pleats that flowed into a chapel-length train. The gown featured beading and embroidery. She carried a bouquet of fuchsia, peach and lime-colored roses with seeded eucalyptus.
Maid of honor was Morgan Virginia Kirkland of DeKalb, sister of the bride. Matron of honor was Ashley Danielle Pilgrim of DeKalb. Other attendants were Christin Leigh Butler of Brandon, Jennifer Nicole Moseley of Madison, Leah Marie McCoy of Starkville and Hayle Ann Skelton of Greenville, S.C. Junior bridesmaids were Alexa Rae Harrison of Bailey, and Taylor Marie Harbour and Baylie Lynne Harbour, both of Meridian.
Jordan Mae Harbour of Meridian was flower girl.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Brandon Charles Moseley of Madison, Andrew John Wardlaw of Olive Branch, John Thomas "J.T." Williamson of Meridian, Tyler Gray Skelton of Greenville, S.C. and Andrew Chadwick Culpepper of Collinsville. Junior groomsman was Austin Gray Andrews of Orange Beach, Ala., and James Earl Burns "Jeb" Pittman and Joshua Wayne Pilgrim, both of DeKalb.
Ring bearer was Adam Sawyer Andrews of Orange Beach.
A reception was held at Meridian Little Theatre immediately following the ceremony. Assisting were Megan Whitaker, Callie Everett, Jan Perrett, Kelli Keaton, Marie Beshears, Nichole Sanders, Missy Castellow, Jodi Darnell and Ann Marie Hailey.
The bride received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi in 2007. She is a 2005 graduate of East Mississippi Community College and 2003 graduate of Kemper Academy.
The bridegroom is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi in 2007 with a degree in managerial finance. He is a 2004 graduate of East Mississippi Community College and a 2002 graduate of West Lauderdale High School.
While attending Ole Miss, he was the kicker for the Ole Miss football team, a Taylor Medalist, a member of Phi Kappa Phi and a Swayze Award finalist.
Following their honeymoon trip, the couple resides in Meridian.
