Dr. Stacy Gean Skinner and Nicholas Earl Turner were married on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Enon Baptist Church in Union with the Rev. Bowman Giles officiating.
Parents of the couple are Louis and Donna Skinner of Union and Matthew "Bud" and Barbara Turner of Louisville.
Grandparents of the bride are L.M. Skinner of Union and the late Claragean Skinner and the late William Edward and Anna "Tag" Brantley of Philadelphia.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Haywood Turner of Maben and the late Katherine Fahr of Lepanto, Ark. and the late Allen Clarence and Gertrude Booth of Mathiston.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Karen Moncrief, pianist; Joel Odom, violinist; Matt Skinner, brother of the bride, organist; and Kathy Nichols, sister of the bridegroom, vocalist.
The bride wore a full-length gown with lace sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and featuring a beaded bodice that flowed into a train. She wore a two-tiered veil trimmed in white ribbon and carried a bouquet of mixed purple roses, calla lilies and hydrangeas.
Melissa Madden was made of honor. Other attendants were Dr. Melissa Pounders and Dr. Allison Gardner.
Anna Brooke Skinner, niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Dr. Jerry Turner, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Lenny Turner and Marty Turner, brothers of the bridegroom, Joshua Skinner, brother of the bride, and Parker Turner, nephew of the bridegroom.
Matthew Turner, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
Assisting at the wedding and reception were Rhonda Baty, cousin of the bride, Kate Thomas and Janis Watts, Shelby Smith, Amy Arthur Myers, Amy Butler and Jordan Turner.
After a honeymoon at Sandestin Resort in Destin, Fla., the couple resides in Amite, La., where the bride is a large and small animal veterinarian at Amite Animal Clinic and the bridegroom teaches fifth-grade social studies at Loranger Middle School.
