Emily Ann White of DeKalb and Paul E. Houston of Philadelphia were married on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at New Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Owen Gordon officiating.
Parents of the couple are Gordon and Ann White of DeKalb, James and Brenda Houston of Philadelphia and Jerry and Myrna Cremeen of Jackson.
Grandparents of the bride are Margaret Allen of DeKalb and the late Parker Allen and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arnold White of Preston.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Margaret Poole of Philadelphia and Jessie Camario of Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Houston Sr.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Cary Eldridge, pianist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless trumpet style gown of beaded lace that featured an empire waistline and a ruched charmeuse empire band with a twist knot. A diamond broach accented the knot. For her headpiece, she wore a fingertip-length veil anchored by a diamond headband. She also wore a pearl necklace, a gift from the bridegroom. Her bouquet was hand tied with her great-grandmother's linen handkerchief.
Summer Kennedy, of Pensacola, Fla., cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Matron of honor was Dana Koger, of Pensacola, cousin of the bride. Other attendants were Jaclyn Tisdale of DeKalb and Carey Anderson, of Meridian.
Flower girl was Morgan Murphy, of Philadelphia, cousin of the bridegroom.
The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Russ Owen, Jeremy Thomas, Pete Willis, and Derek Cumberland, all of Philadelphia, William White, of Oxford, brother of the bride, Brian Hancock of Philadelphia, cousin of the bridegroom.
Ring bearer was William Koger, cousin of the bride.
Bubble attendants were Abby Hedgpeth and Jordan White.
A reception was held at New Hope Fellowship Hall immediately following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple resides in Meridian.
