Lakeisha Ann Eakins and Michiel Jackson, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian with the Rev. Van C. Williams officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Heidelberg and Eddie Cook of Meridian and the late Mr. and Mrs. King A. McDonald and the late Ella M. Jackson.
The bride is the granddaughter of Willie J. Eakins of Lauderdale and the late Agnes D. Eakins and Mary L.Cook of Lauderdale and the late Roosevelt Cook.
The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Ola Myer, Harriett Carr and Henry Jackson.
Music for the ceremony was provided by LaShundra Gilmore, keyboardist; and The Honorable Veldora Young, vocalist.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her step-father. She wore an ivory matte satin gown with Princess lines featuring an empire bodice of silk lace, pearls, sequins and a sweetheart neckline. The skirt flowed into a chapel-length train adorned with pearls and sequins.
Felicia O. King of Jacksonville, Fla. served as matron of honor and Tamika Fuqua of Meridian was maid of honor.
Other attendants were Sharonda Harper, Chastie Jackson, Keyetta May and Paqupia Jackson. Junior bride was Porshe Jackson.
Flower girls were Autumn Brown and Aaliyah Little. The wagon of love was Mikeria Jackson and Zoe Dumas.
Mrs. Eddie D. Coleman, sister of the bridegroom, was escorted by Melton McDonald.
Best man was Ricky Jackson, brother of the bridegroom.
Groomsmen and ushers were Randy Jackson, Stacey Dumas, Curtis Grace, John King, Larry Jackson, JaKennis Heidelberg, Lakendrick McDonald, JaWayne Heidelberg and Dennis Heidelberg Young.
Doninick L. Morris was ring bearer and Dominic Dumas was the Bible carrier.
Hostesses were Andrea Lard and Monekia Jordan.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Quality Inn. Assisting at the reception was Eris Deanne Jordan.
After a honeymoon to Las Vegas, the couple resides in Meridian.
