Busbee, Lau

MERIDIAN —     In an outdoor ceremony, Lindy Ming Lau and Michael Joseph Busbee of Highlands Ranch, Colo., were married on Saturday morning, June 25, 2011, at Red Rocks Park in Morrison, Colo., with the Rev. Cindy Bates officiating.

    Parents of the couple are Ms. Kandy Lau of Atlanta, Ga., the late Mr. Tommy Lau and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Henry Busbee of Meridian.

    Grandparents of the bride are Ms. Ann Strickland and Mr. Roger C. Strickland of Jacksonville, Fla.

    Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mrs. Pauline Simmons Busbee and the late the Rev. Westley Floyd Busbee Sr. of Meridian, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Maxey Baker Sr. of Madison.

    Music for the ceremony was provided by Paul Wren, harpist.

    Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her cousin, Jeret Jenkins, the bride wore a full-length ivory gown accented with Austrian crystals and delicate beading. The strapless sweetheart neckline featured soft sheering to the empire waistline. The A-line skirt fell into a chapel-length train.

    Her fingertip-length veil of illusion was hand-sewn with crystal edging; she also wore a comb with matching crystals. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of gerbera daisies, calla lilies, hydrangeas and sweet peas in shades of pink, orange and green wrapped with a French silk ribbon.

    Matron of honor was Tami Vinson of Denver, Colo., sister of the bride.

    Maid of honor was Pammy Kaye of Woodstock, Ga.

    Bridesmaids were Morgan Couvillion of New Orleans, La., Alicia Eakin of Atlanta, Marielle Kulbok of Lubbock, Texas, Elizabeth Melancon of Birmingham, Ala., and Lauree Lau of Alpharetta, Ga., sister of the bride.

    Junior bridesmaid was Chynna Lau of Alpharetta, Ga., niece of the bride.

    Best men were the father of the bridegroom and Trey Melancon of Birmingham.

    Groomsmen were Matthew Beard of Hoover, Ala., Michael Halter of Birmingham., Brandon Pratt of Meridian, James Roberts of Sandy Springs, Ga., Justin Whitworth of Gardendale, Ala., and Dr. Brent McCarty of New Orleans, cousin of the bridegroom.

    Readers were Blair Tighe of Huntsville, Ala., and Elizabeth Busbee Wiggins of Meridian, sister of the bridegroom.

    A reception was held at the Red Rocks Visitors Center following the ceremony.

    After a honeymoon to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Highlands Ranch.
