Miss Heather Renae Shirley and Dr. Nathan Edward Myatt were married on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Bethany Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmie Garrard officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Roy Shirley and Dr. and Mrs. Ray Edward Myatt, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen Davis of Meridian, the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cornelius Garrison, and the late Roy Jackson Shirley.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Billy Wayne Sterling, Mrs. John Walton Myatt and the late Mr. Myatt, all of Purvis.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Sue Shoffiett, flutist, and Carey Smith, pianist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless satin bodice adorned with lace and beaded pearls featuring a sweetheart neckline. The full tulle skirt was embellished with a cascade of lace flowers which extended into a chapel-length train. She wore a fingertip-length veil of illusion that was sprinkled with pearls and crystals and carried a hand-tied bouquet of white gardenias, lilies, peonies, orchids and roses.
Hannah Faye Shirley of Meridian, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Other attendants were Madison Danielle Campbell, Kimberly Ann Davis, Olivia LeAnn Vick, all of Meridian, Natalie Myatt Gower of Arlington, Va., and Brittany Jo Gressier of Jacksonville, Fla.
Sophie Corinne Best of Pensacola, Fla. and Molly Myatt Porter of Chester, N.J. served as flower girls.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Paul Gower of Arlington, Audy Kent Ladner and Kennedy Kent Ladner, both of Mandeville, La., and Billy Wayne Sterling Purvis.
Wesley Ross Myatt of Dallas, Texas, served as ring bearer.
Bird seed attendants were Julia Katherine and Georgia Claire Best of Pensacola and Mackenzie Scott Porter of Chester.
A reception was held at the Family Life Center after the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Antigua, the couple resides in Edmond, Okla.
