• 5 p.m.-until — Class of 1984 Reunion Tailgate Party at MHS Ray Stadium Lower Parking Lot. All classmates and their friends and family are invited. T-shirts will be available to purchase for classmates and their family. Classmates are asked to pay $25 and that will cover your t-shirt and food for your guest. Saturday, October 17

• 7 a.m.- 2 p.m. — Chunky Wide Yard Sale. 25-35 sales in 3-4 mile area. Maps of sale locations will be available at the Chunky Quick Stop on Highway 80. Each sale area will have a sign or balloons to indicate participation.

• 9 a.m.-4 p.m.— Queen City Decorative Painters will hold its annual Made in the South Christmas Bazaar. It will be held at the Meridian Activity Center, 3300 32nd Ave. There will be more than 40 local artists and craftsmen. There will be door prizes given throughout the day. • 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.— The Philadelphia-Neshoba County Arts Council will hold its annual Octoberfest in downtown Philadelphia. There will be lots of games for kids, free Clothesline Art contest, crafts, food, live entertainment, wagon rides and much more. • Upward flag football games at Oak Hill Baptist Church continue with the last game on Oct. 24. Game times are 9 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Concessions are available. Everyone is invited. For more information, call 601-482-5583.

• 9 a.m.-6 p.m. — Croptoberfest at Faith Baptist Church Dining Room 5050 Hwy 19 North, Meridian. All day scrapbooking event with a portion of the event going to Make-A-Wish to grant wishes in this area. The day includes door prizes, attendance gifts, product demonstrations, lunch ideas, lots of time to crop and scrap, and a table of information about Make-A-Wish with ways you can help grant wishes or find out more about being a volunteer. MAW volunteers will be available to answer you questions. Fee is $30 (lunch included).  For more information, call Alicia at 601-693-0995.

• 10 a.m.-1 p.m. — Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church Fall Food Festival, 3937 Poplar Springs Drive. Slow-Roasted Pulled Pork Plates, $6. Includes a generous portion of pulled pork, special recipe baked beans, festival cole slaw and Mississippi bread. Whole Boston Butts ($20) purchased by reservation only. Baked and frozen goods sale including, homemade cakes, pies, cookies, breads, assorted frozen casseroles and homemade vegetable soup. Delivery available for orders of five or more plates. • 6 p.m.— Meridian Teen Explosion Youth Rally will take place at the Lauderdale County Ag-Center. This a multi county youth rally. Sarah Elizabeth McCary of Nashville, TN will lead in worship and former M-Fuge and Centrifuge speaker Walt Barnes will speak. All churches in the area are invited. • 6:30 p.m.— The Clarke County Christian Singles invites all Singles to their HOBO Soup Supper or Roasted Hot Dogs and Costume Contest at the home of Michael and Glenda Dearman. • 8 p.m.— The 7th Annual Orpheum Star Search finals will take place at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis. Tickets are $10. The talent event will host 11 local finalists representing the Mid-South including Alex Goldman from Lamar School. They will vie for more than $15,000 in scholarships and a chance to perform at the 2010 Jefferson Public Services Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C.
