    • 5 p.m.— Blackwater Baptist Church, in Kemper will host a Fifth Sunday Singing. The Hutcherson's Family and Friends will provide the music. Immediately following the concert the church will host a chili and soup supper.

    • 9a.m.-1p.m. --AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will E-file taxes free for low- and middle- income taxpayers. This service will be available at The Salvation Army Activity Center, 120 6th Avenue (B Street and 6th Ave).   Please bring a copy of your 2007 tax return, 2008 tax information including property taxes paid, picture ID, and Social Security Cards for all family members.  First come, first served.  For more information call (601) 692-2758.

    • 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.— Poplar Springs Elementary School will host a Spring Open House for prospective students and their families. This is an opportunity to tour the school, meet teachers as well as ask questions about the school.
