McCOMB (AP) — McComb Mayor Zach Patterson has filed a lawsuit against the city’s selectmen, accusing them of violating laws when they didn’t give notice of a meeting held to sign payroll checks.
The suit was filed Tuesday in Pike County Circuit Court over an Aug. 26 special meeting selectmen held to sign payroll checks after the mayor said he would not do so. The selectmen are Wade Lamb, Melvin ‘‘Joe’’ Johnson, Robert Maddox, E.C. Nobles, Danny Esch and Robert Earl Smith.
The Enterprise-Journal in McComb said the lawsuit alleged that the meeting violated the law because a notice was not properly posted.
