Suspect pleads guilty in truck stop stabbing

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — The last of six suspects charged in a 2010 homicide has pleaded guilty.

The Hattiesburg American reports 36-year-old Thamos Vantroy Fairley was in Forrest County Circuit Court Tuesday to go on trial for aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, murder and three counts of criminal street gang activity when he decided to enter a plea.

The Beaumont native entered his plea to two of the counts of felony criminal street gang activity.

Fairley is one of six Perry County men who were arrested in connection with the death of 18-year-old Larry Wilson Jr., who died Aug. 2, 2010, from several stab wounds sustained in a fight the night before at Hattiesburg's 21 Truck Stop on U.S. 49.

Hattiesburg police said the incident was gang-related.
