Man gets 20 years for armed robbery in Biloxi

BILOXI, Miss. — A judge has ordered a Louisiana man to serve 20 years in prison for robbing an armored-car driver at gunpoint in Biloxi.

The Sun Herald reports Judge Lisa Dodson sentenced 39-year-old Ralph Ray Regis, of Slidell, on Monday in Harrison County Circuit Court.

The holdup of a Brink's security guard was inside a Hobby Lobby store on March 9, 2011. Regis had been set for trial Friday on an armed robbery charge when he decided to plead guilty.

The guard and witnesses told Biloxi police he had just picked up a deposit at the store and was about to leave when a man stuck a gun to the back of his head, demanded he lie on the floor, and took the money bag.
