Escapee captured after 2 accidents

GREENWOOD, Miss. —

A man charged with domestic violence, kidnapping and burglary is back in the LeFlore County jail after a Sunday night escape.

Greenwood Police Chief Henry Purnell says 32-year-old Gary Eugene Boyles of Indianola was captured after two traffic accidents.

The Greenwood Commonwealth reports that Boyles was serving as a jail trusty when he escaped in a car with his girlfriend.

Later, the car flipped and rolled, injuring the girlfriend. Boyles ran away and allegedly stole a second car. Officers receiving a report on that car chased it until it wrecked. Leflore Sheriff's Department deputies later captured Boyles.
