Pass Christian shooting began with dog argument

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. —

Authorities say a fatal Christmas Eve shooting near Pass Christian occurred after two neighbors argued about their dogs.

Harrison County sheriff's Maj. Ron Pullen tells The Sun Herald Joshua Adam Mizell and Timothy Paul Galle had been arguing over their dogs attacking each other and the dispute escalated Monday night when Mizell pulled out a handgun and shot Galle.

Pullen says the 37-year-old Galle died at the scene of a gunshot wound to the head.

Deputies arrested Mizell on a charge of murder and took him to the county jail. Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set his bond at $500,000 on Wednesday.

It was unclear whether Mizell has an attorney.
