SCOOBA —
In conjunction with the beginning of a new calendar, East Mississippi Community College has officially launched its new athletics Website — www.EMCCAthletics.com — to kick off 2013.
An interactive site hosted by PrestoSports, www.EMCCAthletics.com continues to feature improved traditional elements about EMCC’s six NJCAA-affiliated athletic programs as well as rodeo and cheerleading. In addition to including team information for football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s golf, rodeo and cheerleading, such as rosters, schedules, statistics, results, news releases and biographical profiles on members of EMCC’s coaching staff, the new-look athletics Website is greatly enhanced with the addition of direct links to the school’s social media accounts.
Including convenient access to EMCC’s main Website as well as the school’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, www.EMCCAthletics.com features a comprehensive You Tube-based catalog of post-game video highlights, coach and player interviews and coach’s show segments. The site also contains direct links to live video and live audio options for in-game streaming broadcasts available through the school’s Ustream account.
“We are extremely proud and excited to launch our new athletics website to begin this new calendar year,” noted EMCC Vice President/ Director of Athletics Mickey Stokes. “The timing of the launching works perfectly with the tremendous success and fan interest that our competitive sports teams have generated during recent years. We look forward to maintaining our online presence and social media interest with this informative and user-friendly athletics Website that we hope our fans and alumni will utilize and enjoy.”
Started in 2003, PrestoSports helps sports teams communicate online with their fans, opponents and media outlets. The company develops technologies that facilitate the sharing of information on top of the PrestoSports Network, the digital mapping of teams' real-world connections.
Along with the launching of the school’s new athletics website, East Mississippi Community College is also proud to showcase new logo design elements produced by Beam Team Design and featured prominently within the banner of www.EMCCAthletics.com.
In addition to revamping the school’s traditional interlocking EM logo, Beam Team Design also created a leaping lion mascot logo that is a “bold and vibrant rendition of the ‘King of the Jungle’ that translates well to all applications,” BTD’s Alan Beam said. The Lions’ nickname is also showcased in this logo project with a stylized font featuring the EMCC name and lion’s tail underline spelling out the school’s moniker.
