Skinner leads Lamar past Winston

MERIDIAN —     Corey Skinner continued his early onslaught, rushing for 204 yards and two touchdowns as Lamar rolled past host Winston Academy 55-27 on Friday in Louisville.

Skinner put Lamar up 6-0 with a 3-yard run barely three minutes into the game and after the Patriots took a 7-6 lead, Lee Martin answered with an 81-yard kickoff return. Skinner then put the Raiders, who moved to 3-0, on top for good when he hauled in a 40-yard Barrett Dudley pass early in the second quarter. Skinner added his second rushing touchdown late in the third quarter as Lamar took a 41-21 lead into the fourth.

Martin added a 6-yard touchdown run, while Chase Davis scored on an 8-yard run and 10-yard fumble return, while Dudley also scored on a 17-yard touchdown run. Dudley rushed for 76 yards on 10 carries and threw for 147 yards on 6 of 11 passing. In all, Lamar racked up 470 yards of offense.
