The Clarkdale boys rolled past Mize on Thursday night to advance to the championship game of the Mize Tournament at 6:30 p.m. today against Raleigh. The Bulldogs won Thursday 57-21.
Behind 12 points and eight rebounds from Cody Wall, Clarkdale jumped on top of Mize 19-5 in the first quarter and upped its lead to 40-11 at the half.
Kasey Hinton added 11 points, eight steals and five assists for the Bulldogs, who also received 10 points from Jordan Hodgins and nine from Johnathan McMillan.
The Clarkdale girls also advanced to the title game and play Raleigh at 5 p.m. today.

Makenzie Cobb scored 18 points to lead the Lamar girls past the Rams on Thursday and improving the Raiders' record to 5-2.

Three Raiders scored in double figures Thursday as Lamar eased past Kemper Academy.
Taylor Mabry led Lamar (4-0) with 17 points, while Allen Massingill and Daniel Finan each added 15.

The Knights jumped out ahead of Louisville early in the game leading 11-6 in the first quarter. West (1-2) led 21-12 at halftime.
During the third quarter, the Knights scored 15 and held the Bulldogs to nine. Ecel Hogan led the Bulldogs with 12 and made two 3-pointers that narrowed the lead to 10 in the 3rd.
Scoring in the paint, West’s Leslie Martin had eight points in the first quarter and ended with a game-high 12. West’s Sha Hubbard scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Paige Davis led the Lady Knights’ defensive drive with 4 steals.
West travels to Southeast Lauderdale next Thursday.

Southeast Lauderdale 0
Northeast Lauderdale opened up its 2009-10 season with a 4-0 shutout against county rival Southeast Lauderdale on Friday night.
The Trojans (1-0) were led by Austin Bize's two goals. Nick Divelbliss and James Cranmore each added a goal. Matt Keifer had two assists, while Jordan Martin and Spence Bacum each added assist apiece.
Northeast will be back in action Saturday as they travel to Clarkdale.

The Northeast Lauderdale girls improved to (3-0) Friday as they blanked Southeast Lauderdale in the Trojans' home opener.
Northeast goalie Lauren McElroy had 10 saves to preserve the shutout. Kendall Carpenter contributed a goal and an assist while Kelsey White and Katie Nelson each had a goal. Malley Gulette had two assists on the night.
All of the scoring came in the first half as both defenses buckled down in the second.

West took a 3-0 lead in the first half Friday, getting goals from Kaitlin Polk, Ashlyn Pope and Erin Johnson. Joyner, Polk and Kayte Ford had assists before the break.
In the second half, West tacked on goals from Carly Milling, Ninochka Gomez from Milling, Lacy Billings, Abbie Pope, Madison Moffett and Jordyn Hull. Kaitlyn Knuth and Abbie Pope added assists.
Gomez recorded two saves in goal for the Knights, who host reigning Class 5A state champion Madison Central today at Northeast Park.

Kayla Phillips scored four goals in leading the Bulldogs to a home rout of Quitman on Thursday.
Reagan Dupre' added two goals and an assist for Clarkdale, which also received foals from Hannah Hamilton, Sarah Beckman and Katie Weir. Beckman also had an assist and Bailey McElroy assisted on two goals.
Amber Spann recorded two saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
Clarkdale hosts Northeast Lauderdale on Tuesday.

Matt Taylor made a pair of saves for the Bulldogs in recording the shutout of the Panthers.
Clarkdale's offense was led by Mason Tabb, who netted four goals. Tabb also had an assist. Also scoring for the Bulldogs were David Dennis, Dillon Boatner, Noah Prewitt and Corey Furline. Dennis and Boatner also added assists.
The Bulldogs host Northeast Lauderdale on Tuesday.
