Stan’s Classic Color Pin No-Tap Tournament is set for Oct 19 at Dixie Bowl Lanes. Check-in starts at 5 p.m. with tournament play beginning at 6 p.m.
Stan’s Classic estimates over $200 in strike jackpot money before ticket sales. Stan’s Classic Color Pin No-Tap next tournament will be held in November. A sign-up sheet is at the front counter of Dixie Bowl for next month’s tournament.
Mark your calendars for Stan’s Classic Team No-Tap coming in November. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Dixie Bowl lanes will play host to the infamous tournament starting on Wednesday night and finishing Sunday. Doubles and singles will be open as an optional event. Last year’s champions were the team of Denise Rutledge, Paula Wooten, Julie Hibbs, Jackie Gould and M.A. Copeland. Tida and Eric Yonker took doubles and Eric Yonker held down singles. Bowlers who average less than 161 will receive an eight count no-tap strike and bowlers who hold a 161 and higher will receive a nine count no-tap strike. The tournament is USBC certified and USBC rules will govern the tournament. Entry forms with rules and format are available at Dixie Bowl Lanes.
Youth bowler Gabriel Spells picked up high game and series last Saturday with a 214 and 583; Katie Bobby rolled out a 99 and 257 for high game and series for the youth girls. Youth bowlers are still being accepted for the next few weeks. Any youth who would like to learn the sport of bowling may come out Saturday morning at 10:45 a.m. Youth league practice begins at 11 a.m.
Senior bowler Linda Genin takes high game for the week with a 214-529 and Louvenia Staten rolled out high series of 530. Staten picked up a nice 212 game. Milton Hudson, Monday Seniors, struck up a 245 game for high game of the week for the men. John Parker rolled out a 224, 225, and 235 for a whopping 684 for high series. Hudson picked up a 575 series and 200 a game to finish the week out.
High rollers for the week include Ina Fairley 196, 188; Bobbie Ramsey 187; Kate Grant 183, 177; Bettye Simmons 181, 178; Mary Warren 177; Robert Poole 236, 209- 607; Johnny Pollock 217; Joe Hasson 213-595; William Perry 213; Tyrone McAlpine 209; Billy Priester 209-585; Robert Barfield 208, 205-591; Larry Hattell 205; Harold Riley 203 and Jimmy Thomas Sr. 201.
Kate Grant rolled out the high game of the week for the ladies with a sizzling 230 game during the Friday night mixed league and Dixie Belles bowler Sue Kirkpatrick takes high series with a whopping 584. Grant picked up a 229 and 202 game during the week.
Brain Mattox and Danny Otwell share high game for the men with a massive 255. John Parker struck a 235 game for a nice 664 series for high series of the week.
