Lamar improved to 5-1 on the season, as the Raiders took down Leake Acadmey 48-14 Friday night.
Lee Martin had hauled in three touchdown catches for the Raiders and ran for another on the night. Corey Skinner also had a big night for Lamar, as he ran in touchdowns from five and 45 yards out to aid the Raider offense.
Lamar travel to Newton County Academy next week.
Nanih Waiya 54
Clarkdale 21
Clarkdale remains winless on the season, as the Bulldogs fell to Nanih Waiya on Friday night.
The Warriors jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter. However, Clarkdale running back Dustin Alsup brought the Bulldogs back with a 10-yard touchdown run to tie the game.
The Warriors answered strong in the second quarter, as Nanih Waiya scored three touchdowns to head into the half up 27-9.
After another Warrior touchdown to make the game 34 -9, Clarkdale's Blake Mauldin found Dante Shelby on a fade route to cut the lead to 34-15.
Austin Emerson added another score, running in 28-yard touchdown. However, it was not enough, as the Bulldogs fell to 0-6 on the season.
Clarkdale hosts Taylorsville next week.
Choctaw Central 54
Enterprise 21
Choctaw Central picked up its third win of the season, as it knocked off host Enterprise.
The 0-5 Bulldogs got on the board first as Collin Chandler ran in a 9-yard touchdown to put the Bulldogs up 7-0.
The Warriors answered back later in the quarter, as Brandon Kenedy rushed in from 3 yards out to tie the game at 7.
The Bulldogs grabbed another touchdown before the half to head into the break up 14-7.
The second half was a whole different story, as the Warriors came out fighting in the third quarter.
Janerra Bolin tied the game up for Choctaw in the third quarter as he broke a 44-yard touchdown to tie the game 14-14. From then, the Warriors wouldn't look back as they scored two more TDs in the quarter en route to the win.
Dalton Clegg had a big game for the Warriors, as he rushed for more than 150 yards and two scores in the win.
Madison-St. Joseph 35
Union 6
Union fell to 4-2 on the season as the Yellowjackets fell to Madison-St. Joseph at home.
Union quarterback Jesse Gill ran in the Jackets’ lone touchdown from 4 yards out in the second quarter.
Union takes on Leake County at home next week.

Knights come up short
Down a run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, with the tying run standing on second base, West Lauderdale's Will Stokes stepped up to the plate ––Jerry Boatner Field was rocking.

Tied 2-2 with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning, Newton County softball coach Justin Chaney made second baseman Latesia Davis a promise. Just put the ball in play, Chaney said –– something good will happen.
