MERIDIAN — The Meridian Community College women's basketball team shut down Delgado on Saturday, holding the Dolphins to just 16 points in an 81-44 rout.
MCC (18-5) led 41-28 at the half, as former Kemper County standout Brittany Bohannon led the way with 14 points. LaQuita Burrough added 12 for MCC and Amber Fields scored 10.

Rashad Robinson's 17 points was not enough as visiting Delgado held off the Eagles on Saturday.
Brandon Pettaway added 15, while Emmanuel Donald pulled down 10 rebounds.

The Lions fell short in overtime Saturday without their top two scorers.
With sophomore Martika Hull and freshman Natalie Tate sidelined with injuries, EMCC was outscored 18-8 in the extra session after Wallace-Hanceville tied the game with lay-in at the buzzer by Bailee Robinson. Raona Stowers had scored with 4.8 seconds left to give EMCC (11-11) the lead.
EMCC was paced by Eryn Gray's 21 points. Former Kemper County star RoTasha Windom scored 18 and pulled down 12 boards.

Clarkdale boys 63

Powered by a dominant second quarter, the Bulldogs downed the host Tornadoes on Friday. Clarkdale outscored Philly 15-4 in the quarter.
The Bulldogs (13-10, 4-6 in Region 5-3A) were led by Cody Wall's 12 points and 14 rebounds. Jordan Hodgins added a game-high 25 points and Gabe Shelby added 17.
Philly got 22 points from Georgio Grace, 15 from William Lucien and 11 from Peter Tally in the loss.
