MERIDIAN —
Jackson State University football has found a new home on the radio dial in the Meridian area. The campus radio station of Meridian Community College, 106.9 The Eagle, has announced that it will carry all of the 2012 football games for Jackson State University. The addition of Jackson State football to the air waves at 106.9 The Eagle is very exciting according to station program director Robby Atkinson.
“We think that this is a major step for our radio station in regards to our sports programming,” said Atkinson. “We are excited to add Jackson State to our programming lineup for this fall and there is a great fan base of fans in the Meridian area that will also be very excited about this addition to our radio station. Jackson State has enjoyed a great deal of success as a part of the SWAC and I am looking forward to building a solid relationship with a program that is just down the road from us here at MCC.”
Clay and Laura Holladay donated 106.9 FM to Meridian Community College last June and this marks the first major addition that the college has made in its programming lineup.
“We are hoping to add more programming in the near future and it is a very exciting time to be a part of Meridian Community College,” added Atkinson. “We want to be a major part of this community and this brings something to certain part our audience that was missing.”
