WAYNESBORO —
Services for Gladys Herron Waller will be held Monday, at 11 a.m., at Freeman Funeral Home Chapel with her nephew, Curtis Cain officiating. Interment will be in Waller Ridge Cemetery in Wayne County with Freeman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Waller, 96, of Waynesboro, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Wayne General Hospital of Waynesboro. She lived in Wayne County all of life and was an active member of Clear Creek Baptist Church for more than 70 years. After she reared her family, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Wayne General Hospital for 21 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Bettye Waller Couch of Meridian; son, L. P. Waller of Waynesboro; three grandsons: Murry Weaver (Laura) of Atlanta, Ga., Byron Waller of Fairfield, Ohio, and Chase Waller (May Shia) of Kenosha, Wis.; three great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Weaver of Atlanta, Ga., Selina Waller and Evan Waller, both of Kenosha, Wis.; three sisters-in-law: Pat Hayes and Ann Waller, both of Quitman, and Ruby Waller of Waynesboro; and, numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Waller; infant daughter, Gladys Kay Waller; parents, Claude and Serena Herron; brother, Thomas Mabry Herron; sister, Cora Herron Holley; son-in-law, Walter Couch; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Waller.
Pallbearers will be nephews: Tom Holley, Jim Holley, Ronnie Waller, Scott Waller, Marty Hayes, Robby Hayes, James Earl Smith, and Tommy Waller.
Honorary pallbearers are Dale Waller and Earl Waller.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro.
