CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —
Services for John “Bogie” Kevin Beauregard will be held Thursday, at 10 a.m., at Saint Pius X Catholic Church. A rosary will be held today, at 7 p.m., at Guardian Funeral Home, with public viewing beginning at 6 p.m. Visitation in Lubbock will be held Friday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at LakeRidge Chapel and Memorial. Burial will be Saturday, at 10 a.m., at Peaceful Garden Cemetery in Lubbock. Guardian Funeral Home of Corpus Christi is in charge of arrangements.
John, 49, of Corpus Christi, went to be with the Lord following a tragic car accident while returning home from a scouting event at Camp Huisache in Laredo, on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012. John was born on May 26, 1963 in Downey, Calif., to Nancy and John Beauregard. He married Christie Parker on Aug. 12, 1988, in Lubbock. They have two sons, John Michael and Matthew Beauregard. John graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s of science degree in recreation. John began his Scouting career as a district executive with the South Plains Council in Lubbock in 1988. He then served as finance director with the Capitol Area Council in Austin; field director with the Evangeline Area Council in Lafayette, La.; and, scout executive with the Choctaw Area Council in Meridian, Miss. John has served as scout executive and CEO with the South Texas Council in Corpus Christie since 2008. John was very active in both of his sons scouting advancement. Throughout the years John has been involved with Rotary International and Kiwanis Service Clubs. He is a lifetime member of the National Eagle Scout Association and Alpha Phi Omega. John was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Christie; their two sons: John Michael and Matthew Beauregard; parents, Nancy and John Beauregard of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; two siblings: David Beauregard and his wife Tracie of Edmond, Okla., and Reneè and her husband Rogelio Ruiz of Moreno Valley, Calif.; and, by many nieces and nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to an endowment fund established in John’s name to support youth in scouting. Donations may be sent to: South Texas Council Boy Scouts of America, 700 Everhart Terrace Building A, Corpus Christi, TX 78418.
