Graveside services for Linford W. Conard Jr. will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at Magnolia Cemetery with Bro. Jack Kern officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Conard, lifelong resident of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at home surrounded by the love of his family. Linford was born Oct. 6, 1931, in Meridian to L.W. Sr. and Minnie Lee Conard. After his education in Meridian, he served in the Air National Guard of Mississippi and the Air Force Reserve. He then joined his father in business at L.H. Conard Furniture Company on Front Street for over 40 years. After closing the store, Linford thoroughly enjoyed his well deserved retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Mallene, of almost 59 years; three children: Grace Hutchins of Lawrence, Kan., Lindy Conard of Huntsville, Ala., and Gayle Gullette of Meridian; and, seven grandchildren: Casey and Ryan Hutchins, Patrick, Elizabeth, Anna, and Mary Alex Conard, and Malley Gullette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and, two sisters: Ann Conard and Vera Downs.
